Open Source Visual Basic Text Editors

TeXsword is an equation management macro package for Microsoft Word. It allows one to: (1) Insert equations with labels (bookmarks). Equations can be referenced further on and are automatically numbered. (2) Use LaTeX to create equations.

LatexInWord provides macros for Microsoft Word that allow the use of LaTeX input to create equations images in both inline and display modes. Similar macros for other word processors will hopefully be added in the future. A program to aid in conversions of various text based files and formats ranging from playlists to xml to just about anything. Includes replace functions and useful codepage conversions and fixes (useful for garbaged text from mismatched codepages). Initially coded for the purpose of fixing "garbaged" .cue files and manipulating playlists and batch replace and conversions. Simple drag and drop interface.

NeechPad is for quick note taking in a tabbed environment. Because the white space within the tab is a rich text box, the user can copy in links, word text, excel tables, and photographs. Application settings include a "save all tabs on exit" feature

cEdit is an advanced and free alternative to both common text editors, and IDE's. It has many of the features found in shareware editors, including extensive language support, function listing, built in FTP, projects, and docking support.

Please note: this project is no longer (actively) maintained. Current version: 1.5 WinPen++ is a simple but expanding Windows editor for HTML, XML, PHP, JavaScript, Lua and C#. Since it uses the latest technology, WinPen is available for Windows Server 2008 and above. Users without the latest update (SRV2008, SRV2012, Vista, 7) will have to download the Installer for .NET 4.6 from Microsoft (link is in ReadMe.txt).

PowerBlog is no longer supported as of 2005 and stopped working when incompatibilities came with .NET Framework v2 and Internet Explorer (which was used for WYSIWYG HTML editing). PowerBlog was a powerful and intuitive Windows desktop blogging application. One could post blog entries to an XML-RPC/Blogger API host, FTP host, or other host. It was extensible using .NET assemblies or by using VBScript/JScript scripts. It had an Outlook-style article browsing interface.
