headsort
headsort: streaming sort + 2x faster than gnu sort
headsort sorts files by line and fields. Options can pick field order and etc. In general headsort can sort in 1/2 the time sort(1) (mergesort) does in situations involving either pipes or mult column selection; less than 1/2 with both. Best case was about opposite that of sort(1)*. NEW* hsort main algorithm speed improvement (applies to all; 27,29,31). Now faster than sort(1) (in all cases tested). ...I'm limited in my scripting knowledge and my access to testing platforms to make it the most compatible possible so all help is welcome. Also i looked at a way to make it in a binary to run directly but suffered a lot of bugs and performances losts so i decided to keep it as a shell script that installs itself in the OS. If someone can help to build a binary cross platform, contact me. All packages contain english and french versions. -

Recursive LDD (recursive-ldd) is a Perl script that allows displaying a tree-like hierarchy of shared library dependencies. The script calls on the standard Linux ldd utility in a recursion for every listed binary and library. It completes running when no matches are found in the current branch. It can also print unique values only as well as environment variables that affect the loading of libraries: LD_LIBRARY_PATH and LD_PRELOAD. Same limitations to standard ldd apply. Recursive-ldd cannot check libraries without read permissions. -
