headsort
headsort: streaming sort + 2x faster than gnu sort
headsort sorts files by line and fields. Options can pick field order and etc. In general headsort can sort in 1/2 the time sort(1) (mergesort) does in situations involving either pipes or mult column selection; less than 1/2 with both. Best case was about opposite that of sort(1)*. NEW* hsort main algorithm speed improvement (applies to all; 27,29,31). Now faster than sort(1) (in all cases tested). Fpart is a tool that helps you sort file trees and pack them into bags (called "partitions"). It is developped in C and available under the BSD license. It splits a list of directories and file trees into a certain number of partitions, trying to produce partitions with the same size and number of files. UDP Broadcaster
Re-broadcasts UDP packets using all network interfaces.
The program functions as a sort of virtual hub. It listens on all network interfaces for outgoing UDP broadcast packets destined to the IPv4 address 255.255.255.255. When the program receives any such packet, it will send it on all network interfaces (other than the interface on which it is already being sent) that have a class C subnet mask. In other words, when the program is running, outgoing UDP broadcast packets are sent from all network interfaces that have a class C subnet mask, instead of only being sent from a single network interface that the operating system selects. -

...It's default operation is to act like tsort (1) except that it sorts by pure pkg / make dependancy (tsort sorts by grapical topology: see notes about differences). ...It mimics the function of a posix files and sockets on top of ppapi. Similarly in naclports there is a crude nacl-spawn library which mimics processes by creating multiple nacl modules with javascript acting as a sort of "kernel". Currently the main holes that prevent a conventional distro from being ported is that there is no support for pipes, most signals, and also symbolic links and lastly traditional forks are not currently possible in an efficent way.The current implementation gets around forking and has limited vfork capability. Please join this project to help implement fixes for these issues so we can get your favorite distro to run at nearly native speed!
