This project was started as an implementation of DOS for homebrew computers. Its design stresses simplicity, adaptability, and flexibility. The operating system is largely written in C, allowing it to more easily be ported to other targets. The initial implementation will be for the Intel 8086; however, there are plans to port it to architectures based on the Z80, ARM, and amd64 as well. -

Or until it will no longer be possible to cross-compile it. ==What is it good for?== WineD3D for Windows can be very useful to get old games to work properly on newer systems, especially Windows 8 and newer since they lack 16 bit screen modes. -

serialLCD is Arduino based open-source project. It contains ATmega8 with given firmware file & the arduino library. The ATmega8 can be replaced by ATmega168/328. This is a branch from the fxload project, originally part of the linux-hotplug SourceForge project which seems to be abandoned. This branch incorporates the patch from Steven J. Magnani that adds support for Cypress FX3 USB 3.0 endpoint to the fxload utility. It has been tested on Ubuntu 12.04 with the FX3 development kit (part number CYUSB3KIT-001). Oddly, as of January 2013 Cypress doesn't include this utility with its (open source) Linux SDK but requires developers to purchase a copy of MS Windows to be able to program the board. ... -
