    OpenBot

    OpenBot

OpenBot leverages smartphones as brains for low-cost robots

OpenBot leverages smartphones as brains for low-cost robots. We have designed a small electric vehicle that costs about $50 and serves as a robot body. Our software stack for Android smartphones supports advanced robotics workloads such as person following and real-time autonomous navigation. Current robots are either expensive or make significant compromises on sensory richness, computational power, and communication capabilities. We propose to leverage smartphones to equip robots with...

    Arduino FOC

    Arduino FOC

Arduino FOC for BLDC and Stepper motors

...BLDC motors have numerous advantages over regular DC motors but they have one big disadvantage, the complexity of control. Even though it has become relatively easy to design and manufacture PCBs and create our own hardware solutions for driving BLDC motors the proper low-cost solutions are yet to come. One of the reasons for this is the apparent complexity of writing the BLDC driving algorithms, Field oriented control (FOC) being an example of one of the most efficient ones. The solutions that can be found online are almost exclusively very specific for certain hardware configurations and the microcontroller architecture used. ...

    Narrator

    Exercise support portal

EXITO-Narrator is a web-based exercise management tool, which focuses on the story-telling aspect of a scenario, and is therefore particularly adept at driving high level political exercises. In its typical use, Narrator presents the scenario to players as a synchronised sequence of media-rich “briefings”, to feed the decision making process. The Narrator Moderator, a specific user part of the executing team, is in charge of deciding which is the ‘current’ active briefing at any point in time. ...

    Thermo5

Simple 5 region thermostat with PIC16F690

Simple 5 region thermostat with PIC16F690 using NTC's as a sensors driving 5+1 relays. Thermostat do not use PID control but a simple on/off with hysteresis (like ordinary mechanical thermostat would - note that function in source that decides to turn heater on/off is called pid() but that's not how decision is made). Note that it's designed to measure 5 regions and control 5 groups of heaters but *all* of them are trying to reach *same* temperature.
