Blazing fast terminal file manager written in Rust, based on async I/O

Blazing fast terminal file manager written in Rust, based on async I/O. All I/O operations are asynchronous, CPU tasks are spread across multiple threads, making the most of available resources. Provides real-time progress updates, task cancellation, and internal task priority assignments. Also integrated with Überzug++, covering almost all terminals. Combined with the pre-caching mechanism, greatly accelerates image and normal file loading.

    QuickLook

    QuickLook

Bring macOS “Quick Look” feature to Windows

Bring macOS “Quick Look” feature to Windows. One of the few features I missed from macOS is Quick Look. It allows users to peek into a file's content at lightning speed by just pressing the Space key. Windows, on the other hand, does not have this handy feature, until now! I am aware that several alternatives are already available on the Internet (e.g. WinQuickLook and Seer). Despite these options, I still decided to craft another one by myself, because they are either not being actively developed, lack variety, or ask for some. ...

    Coffee GB

    Coffee GB

    Gameboy emulator in Java 8

I had neither the cartridge nor the GPU emulation yet, so even the simplest game wouldn’t be an option. However, when the original Gameboy starts, it executes a simple 256-bytes program, a kind of firmware displaying the Nintendo logo and self-testing the system. That was exactly the thing I was looking for - after just 3 days I had an application running the Gameboy code!

    Serial Studio

    Serial Studio

Multi-purpose serial data visualization & processing

Serial Studio is a simple, multi-platform, and multi-purpose serial data visualization program that allows embedded developers to visualize, analyze, and present data generated from their projects and devices while avoiding the need to write project-specific visualization software. Over my many CanSat-based competitions, I found myself writing and maintaining several Ground Station software for each program. However, I decided that it would be easier and more sustainable to define one flexible Ground Station Software that lets developers define how each CanSat presents data using an extensible communication protocol for easy data visualization. Developers can also use Serial Studio for almost any data acquisition and visualization project outside of CanSat, now supporting data retrieval from hardware serial ports, software serial ports, MQTT, and network sockets (TCP/UDP). ...

    fping

    fping

    High performance ping tool

...There was no official fping release from 2002 until end of 2011. Various patches existed, but were never integrated "upstream". Also, the official maintainer didn't answer emails, so I decided to just step up and take over maintenanceship. To mark this change of maintenance, and avoid confusion, I decided to call it version 3. Besides a new maintainer, fping now also features a completely rewritten main loop implementation which improves performance significantly. The run time is now close to the theoretical time required to send and receive the pings under the specified parameters.

    XClicker

    XClicker

Fast gui autoclicker for x11 linux desktops

XClicker is an open-source, easy-to-use, feature-rich and blazing-fast Autoclicker for linux desktops using x11. It is written in C and uses the gtk framework. The user interface may look different depending on what gtk theme you are using. The highest I have got with it was around 750cps, but that was still with 1-millisecond interval. With 0 millisecond interval, the focused application may freeze. Safe mode, to protect from unwanted behavior. Autoclick with a specified amount of time between each click. Choose mouse button [Left/Right/Middle].

    rustix

    rustix

Safe Rust bindings to POSIX-ish APIs

rustix provides efficient memory-safe and I/O-safe wrappers to POSIX-like, Unix-like, Linux, and Winsock syscall-like APIs, with configurable backends. It uses Rust references, slices, and return values instead of raw pointers, and I/O safety types instead of raw file descriptors, providing memory safety, I/O safety, and provenance. It uses Results for reporting errors, bitflags instead of bare integer flags, an Arg trait with optimizations to efficiently accept any Rust string type, and several other efficient conveniences. rustix is low-level and, and while the net API supports Windows Sockets 2 (Winsock), the rest of the APIs do not support Windows; for higher-level and more portable APIs built on this functionality, see the cap-std, memfd, timerfd, and io-streams crates.

    Hotkey

    Hotkey

Trigger an action on an element with a keyboard shortcut

Trigger an action on a target element when the hotkey (key or sequence of keys) is pressed on the keyboard. This triggers a focus event on form fields or a click event on other elements. By default, hotkeys are extracted from a target element's data-hotkey attribute, but this can be overridden by passing the hotkey to the registering function (install) as a parameter.

...It integrates with powerful back-end utilities—FFmpeg, ImageMagick, Ghostscript—to handle a broad range of media and document transformations. File Converter is a personal open source project started in 2014. I have put hundreds of hours adding, refining and tuning File Converter with the goal of making the conversion and compression of files an easy task for everyone. File Converter is a very simple tool which allows you to convert and compress one or several file(s) using the context menu of windows explorer.

    GCSF

    GCSF

a FUSE file system based on Google Drive

GCSF is a virtual filesystem that allows users to mount their Google Drive account locally and interact with it as a regular disk partition. Update (April 2019): I am currently still using and maintaining this project but I have very little time to dedicate to it. As such, it might take a while before I get around to fixing known bugs / implementing feature requests / responding to open issues. Thank you for understanding and for expressing sustained interest in this project. GCSF requires the stable branch of the Rust programming language, which can be installed following the instructions on rustup.rs. ...

    Glances

    An eye on your system

Glances is an open source, cross-platform monitoring tool that aims to provide a significant amount of monitoring information through a curses or Web-based interface. Depending on the size of the user interface, this information can then dynamically adapt. Glances can work in client/server mode, and is also capable of remote monitoring. All systems statistics can be exported to files or external time/value databases. Glances gets information from your system through various libraries,...

    quiche

    quiche

Savoury implementation of the QUIC transport protocol and HTTP/3

...It is a “sans-io” library, meaning it implements the core QUIC and HTTP/3 state machines and logic without assuming how input/output should be done, so applications remain responsible for socket handling, event loops, timers, and other system-dependent I/O work. This design choice makes quiche highly adaptable: it can be used in custom servers, clients, proxies, embedded systems, and experimental protocols with QUIC’s features like 0-RTT, connection migration, and built-in encryption.

    DwarFS

    DwarFS

A fast high compression read-only file system for Linux, Windows

...DwarFS is a read-only file system with a focus on achieving very high compression ratios in particular for very redundant data. This probably doesn't sound very exciting, because if it's redundant, it should compress well. However, I found that other read-only, compressed file systems don't do a very good job at making use of this redundancy. See here for a comparison with other compressed file systems. DwarFS also doesn't compromise on speed and for my use cases, I've found it to be on par with or perform better than SquashFS. For my primary use case, DwarFS compression is an order of magnitude better than SquashFS compression, it's 6 times faster to build the file system, it's typically faster to access files on DwarFS and it uses less CPU resources.
