    Epik Utilities

Epik Utilities are tools for Linux Administrators.

Epikscan is a cluster aware, diagnostic script that runs basic health checks and gathers detailed, addressable system information from an RHEL, Scientific Linux, Oracle/OVM or CentOS 4, 5 or 6 system. A single archive is created for each host that contains the scan data along with linking information that can be merged with scans from other nodes to produce a cluster oriented report. Html, text, xml and sqlite3 database reports can be optionally generated to support both manual and automated fault analysis. The scan and merge process attempts to heuristically identify possible problems with the node or cluster configuration and highlights them in red to speed up the review and resolution process.

Plinko was originally an experiment with Prefix Trees and log parsing. The general concept is to have a single end point you can send any data to, in a "fire and forget" fashion. Plinko should identify and parse the data completely without the sending system caring what it sent. The latest version supports named fields in the STL files for tagging data parsed in the Prefix Tree and anonymous functions for parsing dynamic message payloads. We now output JSON objects and I'm working on HBase...

    COMP Superscalar

COMP superscalar exploits the inherent parallelism of applications.

COMP Superscalar offers a straightforward programming model that particularly targets Java applications. The simplicity of this programming model keeps the Cloud transparent to the user, who is able to program their applications in a Cloud-unaware fashion. The user is only required to select the tasks to be run on the Cloud, while the application can remain completely free of Cloud-related calls.

    Honeyd2MySQL

    Honeyd2MySQL

Utility to move honeyd.log entries to a MySQL database.

This is yet another simple piece of software that extracts all the basic stats from honeyd’s text-based log files and inserts them in a MySQL database. Then you can run some queries and of course visualize the data if you want to. Many things are hardcoded or dead simple, but it does the job. The file is a modified version of “honeyd_importer” perl script originally writen by Joshua Gimer and shared through “honeypots” mailing list.
