eGuideDog project develops free software for the blind. Currently, we focus on WebSpeech, Ekho TTS and WebAnywhere.

Frinika is a free, complete music workstation software for Linux, Windows, Mac OSX and other operating systems running Java. It features sequencer, soft-synths, realtime effects and audio recording.

This kangaroo-themed program allows the user to create their own music and sound effects, effectively from scratch. There are two variants of the program: Kangas Sound Editor which requires MySQL for its database, and Kangas Sound Editor QI which does not (it uses an internal database - HSQLDB - instead). Kangas Sound Editor (QI) uses a system of boxes or cells, which are placed by the user onto a timeline using drag-and-drop, and which represent entities such as chords, repetition, and individual sounds or notes. The program's database allows the user to create and store harmonics, used for constructing melodic instruments, and anti-harmonics, which are used for constructing percussion instruments. Users can collaborate with and build on the work of others via an XML import/export facility.

BeatBox is a Java application in which users use a 16x16 grid of checkboxes to create a beat with various percussion instruments. Beats can be saved and loaded easily. The entire application is as intuitive and user-friendly as possible.

jVSTwRapper allows you to develop VST (2.4), Audio Unit (AU) and LADSPA compatible audio plugins and virtual instruments plus user interfaces (Swing) with the Java programming language on Windows, Linux and Mac OSX. 5 demo plugins (+src) are included.

The project is divided into two main sections: a metronome and a click track generator. The metronome is intended as a practice aid for musicians. It loops a single bar of click track that is specified by the user. The user can select the time signature, beat division, beat grouping, bar emphasis and beat emphasis. The click track generator is intended as a song practice aid for single musicians or an entire band. Just like when recording int the studio, it provides a constant benchmark for the tempo. Both the metronome and click track are generated dynamically and played using the build in audio libraries of android. This provides a highly precise click.

FluidGUI is a graphical user interface for FluidSynth (www.fluidsynth.org), an open-source software synthesizer based on the MIDI and Sound Font specifications. FluidGUI is developed in the Java programming language.

Fractal/Scripting VSTi synthesizer, written on Java with jVSTwrapper

Syn-Thesis is an additive VST synthesizer with 4 oscillators, which is written in Java. The waveform of each oscillator can be created by adding up to 64 harmonics. Syn-Thesis is based on the jVSTwRapper and can be used as VST plugin.

Nowadays the idea of a music of the spheres, or a cosmic music that descends from the planets seems more like poetic philosophy than anything scientific. However, when the scientist Kepler discovered special principles about planetary motion, he also reconsidered the music. Apparently his observance of a harmonic law of planetary motion was reason for him to propose a computable system of pitch and harmony deriving from angular velocity. ApplPi is a stochastic noise machine that creates a soothing background noise for those who can't work in complete silence or need to mask distracting noise. It creates sound similar to any noise machine, but it's more musical and harmonic. Additionally, you can control the frequency (note) of the sound and choose from built-in presets of noise/sound.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) evolves musical instruments you play with the mouse from small blocks of Java code that operate on numbers, each block designed to keep all numbers in range -1 to 1 if they started in that range, and combinations of these evolved codes running 44100 times per second for high quality 44.1 khz audio.
