EasyABC is an open source ABC editor
EasyABC allows the user to create, edit, view, play, convert music written in the ABC music notation language. The program was originally written in Python 2.7 and WxPython by Nils Liberg and runs on Windows, OSX, and Linux. Jan Wybren de Jong has converted to run on Python 3.8 or higher. Frédéric Aupépin has been supporting EasyABC on OSX. EasyABC depends upon other external programs like abc2midi, abcm2ps, fluidsynth. If you install the Windows or Mac executables most of these programs are automatically included. -

Toadflax

...It allows the user to load in abc music notation files and work on each one independently. The music is displayed on-screen, without needing to use a PostScript interpreter, making it a lightweight notation viewer. The Toadflax program uses a music renderer based on yaps, while py_toadflax uses the music renderer from the abcCairo project based on abcm2ps. The source can be hand-edited or transformed in various ways using an adaptation of the abc2abc program. Perhaps the most useful feature that this provides is transposition with the ability to instantly see the effect of a transposition. -

BCCpy came about as the result of my beginning to learn Python and recreating the basic functionality of a simple VB program I wrote back in 1999. Since I was never very proficient with Visual Basic (or Applesoft BASIC for that matter); this application is very basic and could use lots of improvements. I'll implement them as I learn them. As of October 6, 2018; I have "abandoned" the project. I have actually forgotten everything I know about Python since writing this and other than adding error handlers; I really don't know how much further I could take it. ... -

I wrote this little program to be able to easily create mp3 sticks to play in my car directly from my Amarok collection). For this purpose the stick needs a flat folder structure and be sorted alphabetically before copying. The small Qt4 dialog has a drop area where you can drag mp3s (from file manager or Amarok, perhaps also other programs) onto it and it will read the ID3 tags and create a sorted folder structure with "Artist - Album" and shows the number of tracks and size it would take. ... -
