A metronome with audible "tock" sound and large visual display for (mostly amateur) musical groups, such as bell choirs, that must keep track of measure count and beats/half-beats within the measures. An interesting exercise in applying the java.util.concurrent and javax.sound.sampled packages.

    StoryTeller

    StoryTeller

Android AudioBook player with sleep timeout

...When StoryTeller beeps that means you have to shake the hell out of your phone to signify you are still, more or less actively, listening. Doing so successfully will reset the timer. In order to able to collect a lot of mostly meaningless data and also have a rough idea on how many people might be using StoryTeller I am using Google Analytics. This is disabled by default and you will be asked on the first start whether or not you would like to enable tracking. After that you always have the option to enable or disable Google Analytics through the settings.
