Polymeter is a MIDI sequencer for music that's in multiple prime meters (2, 3, 5, 7, 11, etc.) simultaneously. Each track has its own loop length, and when the lengths differ, the tracks "slip" (or shift phase) relative to each other. The resulting interference pattern is sufficiently intricate that variations similar to the embellishments of a live performer can be generated algorithmically. .... The application plays the notes aloud as they pass under the centerline of the application window. So you adjust the scrolling speed and time between new notes and then play each note before the application echos it back to you. It also scrolls guitar tablature, as can be seen in the video. The keyboard and guitar models are linked so that playing a note on the piano keyboard (clicking a key) causes the guitar neck to display all the locations of the same note on the guitar neck. -

You can play your midi keyboard and see the relative name in notation C D E.. or notation DO RE MI.... and the position on pentagram and on a mandolin's fretboard. There is also a TEST section that generate a random note in one of the four notations described above and you have to guess it in the less time possible. -

First off, please note that there are 3 modules not included in the .exe so I compiled these to a .zip to make for a quicker download. Extract the .zip and keep all files together. It's pretty self-explanatory. Run the .exe, on first run you are forced to put in new hotkeys. You can select modifiers, but you don't have to. Only one modifier can be used per hotkey. Select a key from the keylist (Drop down menu). In order for the program to work you must select a hotkey for every command. IE... -
