Introduction to DR14 T.meter DR14 T.meter is a free and opens source command line tool for computing the Dynamic Range of your music according to the procedure used in the off-line meter released by the Pleasurize Music Foundation. This tool is very useful to measure how is loud your music and for understanding that a good quality album always has also a good dynamic, and it's also useful for understanding the effects of the so called loudness war. Dr14 t.meter is released under the terms of the GNU GPLv3 license and is intended for the Linux users that can not use the Windows application released by the Pleasurize Music Foundation or the plugin for Foobar2000. I've largely tested this application and it has always returned results identical to those of the official off-line meter.

EarQuiz Frequencies is a software for ear training on equalization. Its goal is to help musicians, audio professionals, hobbyists and students learn how to hear frequency bands. Available for Windows 10, 11 (x64), macOS 11 or higher (both for Intel and Apple Silicon) and Linux. This application is based on (and deeply inspired by) the world-renowned Golden Ears method of David Moulton, whose course is half dedicated to building this essential critical listening skill. The overall training process involves ongoing learning and testing yourself. In the Learn mode, you listen to the pink noise or music (or other external audio) excerpts with switched off and on 1-octave or 1/3-octave graphic EQ, boosting or cutting frequency bands within certain spectral ranges. Then in the Test mode you are given a sequence of 10 similar examples, where you try to guess, which frequencies are boosted or cut, and you get scored. Footswitch 3 is a media player for transcribers on Linux. Written in python using the python bindings for Gstreamer it allows a transcriber to control the audio or video with a foot pedal, and includes a set of macros that integrate into LibreOffice. This allows the transcriber to control the media player from within Libreoffice as well, making it useful for those who do not yet own a foot pedal/foot switch. Gmorgan is a midi processor. It can be voiced using Linux synths, midi connected equipment, or a soundcard.
