    CocoaPods

    CocoaPods

    The Cocoa Dependency Manager

CocoaPods is a dependency manager for Swift and Objective-C Cocoa projects. It has over 82 thousand libraries and is used in over 3 million apps. CocoaPods can help you scale your projects elegantly. CocoaPods is built with Ruby and is installable with the default Ruby available on macOS. We recommend you use the default ruby. Using the default Ruby install can require you to use sudo when installing gems. Further installation instructions are in the guides. CocoaPods manages library dependencies for your Xcode projects. The dependencies for your projects are specified in a single text file called a Podfile. CocoaPods will resolve dependencies between libraries, fetch the resulting source code, then link it together in an Xcode workspace to build your project. Ultimately the goal is to improve discoverability of, and engagement in, third party open-source libraries by creating a more centralised ecosystem.

    PINCache

    PINCache

Fast, non-deadlocking parallel object cache for iOS, tvOS and OS X

PINCache is a fork of TMCache re-architected to fix issues with deadlocking caused by heavy use. It is a key/value store designed for persisting temporary objects that are expensive to reproduce, such as downloaded data or the results of slow processing. It is comprised of two self-similar stores, one in memory (PINMemoryCache) and one on disk (PINDiskCache), all backed by GCD and safe to access from multiple threads simultaneously. On iOS, PINMemoryCache will clear itself when the app receives a memory warning or goes into the background. Objects stored in PINDiskCache remain until you trim the cache yourself, either manually or by setting a byte or age limit.

    CocoaRestClient

    CocoaRestClient

A free, native Apple macOS app for testing HTTP/REST endpoints

CocoaRestClient is a Mac OS X app for testing HTTP/Restful endpoints. I love curl, but sometimes I need my output XML or JSON pretty printed. I want to be able to save frequent PUT and POST bodies for later and copy and paste responses easily. Think of this as a curl with a light UI. The goal of this project is to build a lightweight native Cocoa app for testing and debugging HTTP Restful services. This project was greatly inspired by the Java rest-client.

    DTCoreText

    DTCoreText

Methods to allow using HTML code with CoreText

DTCoreText renders HTML into Core Text–backed attributed text on iOS, providing fine control over typography and inline content. It parses a practical subset of HTML/CSS and maps elements to attributed strings, handling fonts, colors, paragraph styles, lists, links, and embedded images or attachments. The layout engine uses Core Text framesetting to produce high-quality text rendering, including proper line breaking, kerning, and ligatures. Developers can plug in custom URL handlers, attachment loaders, and style overrides to adapt rendering to app needs. The library is particularly useful where NSAttributedString from HTML falls short or when you need consistent results across iOS versions. It also exposes hooks to measure, cache, and interact with text runs, making it suitable for rich article views, e-book readers, and mixed media content.

    FLEX (Flipboard Explorer)

    FLEX (Flipboard Explorer)

An in-app debugging and exploration tool for iOS

FLEX (Flipboard Explorer) is a set of in-app debugging and exploration tools for iOS development. When presented, FLEX shows a toolbar that lives in a window above your application. From this toolbar, you can view and modify nearly every piece of state in your running application. Access any live object via a scan of the heap. View the file system within your app's sandbox. Browse SQLite/Realm databases in the file system. Trigger 3D touch in the simulator using the control, shift, and command keys. Explore all classes in your app and linked systems frameworks (public and private). Unlike many other debugging tools, FLEX runs entirely inside your app, so you don't need to be connected to LLDB/Xcode or a different remote debugging server. It works well in the simulator and on physical devices.

Firebase is an app development platform with tools to help you build, grow and monetize your app. More information about Firebase can be found on the official Firebase website. See the subsections below for details about the different installation methods. Where available, it's recommended to install any libraries with a Swift suffix to get the best experience when writing your app in Swift. Instructions for Swift Package Manager support can be found at SwiftPackageManager Markdown file. All of the official releases are tagged in this repo and available via CocoaPods. To access a local source snapshot or unreleased branch, use Podfile directives. CocoaPods is still the canonical way to develop, but much of the repo now supports development with Swift Package Manager.

    Injection for Xcode

    Injection for Xcode

Runtime Code Injection for Objective-C & Swift

injectionforxcode enables live code injection for iOS and macOS apps so developers can iterate on UI and logic without doing a full rebuild and relaunch. It works by compiling changed source files into dynamic bundles and loading them into the running app, swapping method implementations at runtime. The tool monitors file changes, triggers fast recompiles, and provides console feedback so you can confirm injections and quickly revert if needed. It supports Objective-C and Swift (with certain runtime caveats), and plays well with Interface Builder tweaks, letting you see visual changes almost immediately. Because it hooks into the natural development loop, it dramatically shortens feedback cycles for layout tuning, animations, and view controller logic. While not a replacement for clean rebuilds and full test runs, it’s a powerful productivity aid for day-to-day iteration.

    Mantle

    Mantle

Model framework for Cocoa and Cocoa Touch

Mantle makes it easy to write a simple model layer for your Cocoa or Cocoa Touch application. Core Data solves certain problems very well. If you need to execute complex queries across your data, handle a huge object graph with lots of relationships, or support undo and redo, Core Data is an excellent fit. If you're just trying to access some JSON objects, Core Data can be a lot of work for little gain. Nonetheless, if you're using or want to use Core Data in your app already, Mantle can still be a convenient translation layer between the API and your managed model objects. In order to serialize your model objects from or into JSON, you need to implement <MTLJSONSerializing> in your MTLModel subclass. Mantle doesn't automatically persist your objects for you. However, MTLModel does conform to <NSCoding>, so model objects can be archived to disk using NSKeyedArchiver.

    NUI

    NUI

Style iOS apps with a stylesheet, similar to CSS

Style iOS apps with a stylesheet, similar to CSS. NUI is a drop-in UI kit for iOS that lets you style UI elements using a stylesheet, similar to CSS. It lets you style an entire app in minutes. Because all of the style rules are contained in NUIStyle.nss, it's easy to create an NUI theme that can be reused in other projects. If you make one you like, let me know, and I'll likely be very happy to include it in this repo. Version 0.1 of NUI required that you manually make your app's UI components inherit from NUI classes (e.g. NUIButton). NUI no longer requires this, as it uses UIKit categories instead subclasses. If you were previously using NUI 0.1, and update to a newer version of NUI, you'll want to simply unset those custom classes, so that, for example, a UIButton is simply a UIButton, instead of being a NUIButton.

    Sparkle 2

    Sparkle 2

A software update framework for macOS

Sparkle is an easy-to-use software update framework for macOS applications. Sparkle is open source software available under the permissive MIT license, and is developed on GitHub by the Sparkle Project with the help of dozens of valued contributors. Sparkle is kept up to date with the latest Apple technologies such as Touch Bar and Dark Mode. Sparkle supports macOS 10.9 and later. Supports Sparkle's own signatures as well as Apple Code Signing, for ultra-secure updates. Sparkle also supports authentication for installing in secure locations. Support for sandboxing is currently under development. Requires no code in your app, but also provides deep delegate support for maximum customization. Developers can make Sparkle work exactly as they need, and users can make Sparkle work as they prefer. Your own branding, icons and app name are used - there's no mention of Sparkle. Works with any macOS app, whether it uses Cocoa, Qt, Xamarin, or otherwise.

    iOS-Runtime-Headers

    iOS-Runtime-Headers

iOS Objective-C headers as derived from runtime introspection

iOS-Runtime-Headers is a large collection of Objective-C header files reconstructed from Apple’s private iOS frameworks and the public runtime. Its purpose is to expose class interfaces—methods, properties, ivars, protocols—that are not documented by Apple, making it easier to explore system behavior and reverse-engineer APIs. The headers are generated by inspecting binaries and metadata, then organized by framework so developers can browse relationships and inheritance hierarchies. This is invaluable for research, debugging, and tooling where you need to understand what UIKit, Foundation, or lower-level frameworks are actually doing under the hood. The project encourages read-only exploration; code using private APIs is generally unsuitable for App Store distribution. Practitioners use it to guide experiments, prototype ideas, and inform jailbreak or internal tooling where runtime knowledge is essential.
