WFIRE is a low-level game engine which provides a portable library allowing for writing video games for multiple classic targets. Originally written for a game called the Crypts of Eldor, WFIRE aims to provide compatibility with a number of constrained environments, such as DOS and the Amiga. It also aims for "new-retro" computers such as the Commander X16 and the Neon816. Of course, modern operating environments such as Windows NT and GNU/Linux are also planned. WFIRE is meant to reduce the effort of writing your own game engine by providing a common framework for functions such as rendering, sound output, and display management. -

This is yet another long-term project (YALP?). The aim is to write a portable GUI/OS for Atari ST, Amiga and DOS. The code must be small, fast and support modern GUI features. ie: Embedded component controls. The code current compiles with Highspeed Pascal (Atari ST) or FreePascal. I hope to have it compiling for the Amiga (also using Highspeed Pascal), and supporting a built in p-code compiler/interpreter for cross platform development. -

Command-line tool to decode text which has undergone MIME-typical encoding into (ISO-8859) 8-bit --- without having or parsing the relevant MIME type declarations. Decodes quoted-printable sequences; handles UTF-8, UTF-16BE, UTF-16LE; optionally translates common characters from DOS or Windows code pages or HP-Roman8 into ISO-8859-1. UCS characters can be mapped to 8-bit translation strings. Single ISO C source file, "8conv.c". Translation can be controlled through a configuration file, the sample file "8conv.conf" shows the syntax. -
