    GoNB

    GoNB, a Go Notebook Kernel for Jupyter

    Go is a compiled language, but with very fast compilation, that allows one to use it in a REPL (Read-Eval-Print-Loop) fashion, by inserting a "Compile" step in the middle of the loop -- so it's a Read-Compile-Run-Print-Loop — while still feeling very interactive. GoNB leverages that compilation speed to implement a full-featured (at least it's getting there) Jupyter notebook kernel. As a side benefit it works with packages that use CGO — although it won't parse C code in the cells, so it can't be used as a C kernel. It already includes many goodies: cache between cell of results, contextual help and auto-complete (with gopls), compilation error context (by mousing over), bash command execution, images, html, etc. See the tutorial. It's been heavily used by the author (in developing GoMLX, a machine learning framework for Go), but should still be seen as experimental — if we hear success stories from others, we can change this.

    Go minifiers for web formats

    Minify is a minifier package written in Go. It provides HTML5, CSS3, JS, JSON, SVG and XML minifiers and an interface to implement any other minifier. Minification is the process of removing bytes from a file (such as whitespace) without changing its output and therefore shrinking its size and speeding up transmission over the internet and possibly parsing. The implemented minifiers are designed for high performance. The core functionality associates mime-types with minification functions, allowing embedded resources (like CSS or JS within HTML files) to be minified as well. Users can add new implementations that are triggered based on a mime-type (or pattern) or redirect to an external command (like ClosureCompiler, UglifyCSS,). Minifiers or bindings to minifiers exist in almost all programming languages. Some implementations are merely using several regular expressions to trim whitespace and comments.

These components include the NVIDIA drivers (to enable CUDA), Kubernetes device plugin for GPUs, the NVIDIA Container Runtime, automatic node labeling, DCGM-based monitoring, and others.

However, it can be difficult to find all the places where you might have used a version that will be deprecated in your next upgrade. You might think, "I'll just ask the api-server to tell me!", but this is fraught with danger. If you ask the API-server to give you deployments.v1.apps, and the deployment was deployed as deployments.v1beta1.extensions, the API-server will quite happily convert the API version and return a manifest with apps/v1. This is fairly well outlined in the discussion of this issue.

    CLI and validation tools for Kubelet Container Runtime Interface (CRI). cri-tools aims to provide a series of debugging and validation tools for Kubelet CRI. It's recommended to use the same cri-tools and Kubernetes minor version, because new features added to the Container Runtime Interface (CRI) may not be fully supported if they diverge. cri-tools follows the Kubernetes release cycles with respect to its minor versions (1.x.y). Patch releases (1.x.z) for Kubernetes are not in sync with those from cri-tools, because they are scheduled for each month, whereas cri-tools provides them only if necessary. If a Kubernetes release goes End of Life, then the corresponding cri-tools version can be considered in the same way.

    Package chart is a very simple golang native charting library that supports time-series and continuous line charts. Actual chart configurations and examples can be found in the ./examples/ directory. They are simple CLI programs that write to output.png (they are also updated with go generate. Everything on the chart.Chart object has defaults that can be overridden. Whenever a developer sets a property on the chart object, it is to be assumed that value will be used instead of the default. The best way to see the api in action is to look at the examples in the ./_examples/ directory. I wanted to make a charting library that used only native golang, that could be stood up on a server (i.e. it had built-in fonts). The goal with the API itself is to have the "zero value be useful", and to require the user to not code more than they absolutely needed.

You can also pass data from the HTTP request (such as headers, payload or query variables) to your commands. webhook also allows you to specify rules which have to be satisfied in order for the hook to be triggered. For example, if you're using Github or Bitbucket, you can use webhook to set up a hook that runs a redeploy script for your project on your staging server, whenever you push changes to the master branch of your project. If you use Mattermost or Slack, you can set up an "Outgoing webhook integration" or "Slash command" to run various commands on your server, which can then report back directly to you or your channels using the "Incoming webhook integrations", or the appropriate response body.

    deej is an open-source hardware volume mixer for Windows and Linux PCs. It lets you use real-life sliders (like a DJ!) to seamlessly control the volumes of different apps (such as your music player, the game you're playing and your voice chat session) without having to stop what you're doing. Control your microphone's input level. Lightweight desktop client, consuming around 10MB of memory. Runs from your system tray. Helpful notifications to let you know if something isn't working. The sliders are connected to 5 (or as many as you like) analog pins on an Arduino Nano/Uno board. They're powered from the board's 5V output (see schematic). The board connects via a USB cable to the PC. The code running on the Arduino board is a C program constantly writing current slider values over its serial interface. The PC runs a lightweight Go client in the background. This client reads the serial stream and adjusts app volumes according to the given configuration file.

    Parse environment variables to structs in Go. In Go, it’s dead simple to get the value from an environment variable. If you have a type that is not supported out of the box by the lib, you are able to use (or define) and pass custom parsers (and their associated reflect.Type) to the env.ParseWithFuncs() function. Env supports by default anything that implements the TextUnmarshaler interface. That includes things like time.Time for example. The upside is that depending on the format you need, you don't need to change anything. The downside is that if you do need time in another format, you'll need to create your own type. By default, slice types will split the environment value on ,; you can change this behavior by setting the envSeparator tag. If you set the envExpand tag, environment variables (either in ${var} or $var format) in the string will be replaced according with the actual value of the variable.

It reduces the risk of introducing a new software version in production by gradually shifting traffic to the new version while measuring metrics and running conformance tests. For release analysis, Flagger can query Prometheus, InfluxDB, Datadog, New Relic, CloudWatch, Stackdriver or Graphite and for alerting it uses Slack, MS Teams, Discord, and Rocket. Flagger can be configured with Kubernetes custom resources and is compatible with any CI/CD solutions made for Kubernetes. Since Flagger is declarative and reacts to Kubernetes events, it can be used in GitOps pipelines together with tools like Flux.
