The purpose of this project is to create security policy content for various platforms, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES), as well as products, Firefox, Chromium, JRE. We aim to make it as easy as possible to write new and maintain existing security content in all the commonly used formats. "SCAP content" refers to documents in the XCCDF, OVAL and Source DataStream formats. These documents can be presented in different forms and by different organizations to meet their security automation and technical implementation needs. For general use, we recommend Source DataStreams because they contain all the data you need to evaluate and put machines into compliance. The datastreams are part of our release ZIP archives. "Ansible content" refers to Ansible playbooks generated from security profiles. These can be used both in check-mode to evaluate compliance, as well as run-mode to put machines into compliance. -

Sweet looking lockscreen for linux system
Fast and sweet-looking lock screen for Linux systems with effects. Most i3lock wrapper scripts out there take an image, add some effect(s) then lock with the modified image as a locker background. Overall experience doesn't feel natural given the delay of 2-3 seconds. So Betterlockscreen was my attempt to solve this problem, as we don't need to change the lockscreen background frequently this script caches images with effect so the overall experience is simple and as fast as native i3lock. The script takes a directory or image, adds various effects and caches the images in a special directory. Those cached images will be used as locker background depending on the configuration provided by the user. -

SELKS is a free and open source Debian-based IDS/IPS/Network Security Monitoring platform released under GPLv3 from Stamus Networks. SELKS can be installed via docker-compose on any Linux or Windows OS. Once installed it is ready to use out of the box solution. SELKS ISOs are also available for air-gapped environments or bare metal or VM installation. SELKS is a showcase of what Suricata IDS/IPS/NSM can do and the network protocol monitoring logs and alerts it produces. As such any and all data in SELKS is generated by Suricata. The usage of Suricata data is further enhanced by Stamus' developed Scirius, a threat-hunting interface. It spins up a tagged ec2 instance and configures OpenVPN software. Once the instance is configured an OpenVPN configuration file is downloaded and ready to use. There is also functionality to see which instances are running in which region and the ability to terminate the instance when done. Additional functionality includes specifying instance type, generating ssh keypairs, specifying custom AMI, changing login user, and more to come. Create on-demand OpenVPN Endpoints in AWS that can easily be destroyed after done only pay for what you use. -
