The idea is to replicate what Chromecast can do in regards to screen mirroring and streaming media to a remote display. Google chromes screen mirroring feature works well when used with a receiver such as Chromecast but this is a proprietary solution and audio does not work for desktop mirroring on some operating systems. At the moment, there is only a client for Debian/Ubuntu Operating systems and a server/receiver application for Raspberry pi. Mirrorcast aims to be a low latency screen mirroring solution with high-quality video and audio at 25-30fps, the later is why we will not use something like VNC. Mirrorcast uses up about the same amount of system resources as google chromes cast feature. The delay is less than 1 second on most networks. To achieve this we will use existing FOSS software such as ffmpeg, mpv, and omxplayer. -

Amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there are no efficient face mask detection applications which are now in high demand for transportation means, densely populated areas, residential districts, large-scale manufacturers and other enterprises to ensure safety. The absence of large datasets of ‘with_mask’ images has made this task cumbersome and challenging. Our face mask detector doesn't use any morphed masked images dataset and the model is accurate. Owing to the use of MobileNetV2 architecture, it is computationally efficient, thus making it easier to deploy the model to embedded systems (Raspberry Pi, Google Coral, etc.). -

For example, Figure 3 shows the analyzed results from the camera hosted in the DT42 office. The frames were captured by the IP camera and they were submitted into the AI engine. The output from the AI engine will be shown in the dashboard. -

Automated Plant Environment Growing System using Raspberry Pi
GROWbox Supervisor System (GROWSS) is a grow box or grow cabinet environmental controller. GROWSS uses a Raspberry Pi (RPI) & Grove sensors to monitor and control the environment in your grow box or cabinet. Environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, soil moisture, & smoke (from fire) are monitored and displayed on a terminal connected to the RPI & on a mobile app. GROWSS also controls the exhaust fan and grow lights based on the time interval (ie. 12 hours on/12 hours off) & from environmental factors, temp & humidity. The environmental values are saved to the local storage every 15 minutes and when an alarm is present. Hi & low values are also saved. The LEDs on the case & the mobile application indicate if there is a high/low temp alarm, hi/low humidity alarm, soil moisture alarm, or smoke alarm. A speaker (buzzer) is activated on the case if there is a smoke alarm. 2 other LEDs indicate if either the exhaust fan is on or if the humidifier is on. -

This project includes several Python and bash scripts designed to connect Geiger Muller counters to report their results to RadMon.org. Soon the script will also feature local logging, graphing and alerting. Just because the Cold War is "over" does not mean that there is no more threat of a radiological attack. In fact, the U.S. Homeland Security Council lists the "Detonation of a 10 Megaton Improvised Nuclear Device" as "Scenario #1" among the top 15 threats to American security. Or, if you do not believe that a nuclear bomb is likely, what about all the Chernobyl-style Soviet-era nuclear power stations still in service? The point is: let us work together as free people to jointly report and track radiation levels around the globe. Information is power--and more importantly, information can save lives. This project is known to work on Raspberry Pi and various Linux distributions. Both PyRadMon and RadMon.org are completely free, though donations are always appreciated.
