NexTask is intended for the Raspberry Pi, though the source can be compiled of any Linux distribution. Using cron scheduling, the user can code reminders for their household. Currently, the display program has been built. The scheduling using cron must be set up manually. In the future, a GUI will be available to help build the scheduling scripts.

go-sdl2 is SDL2 wrapped for Go users. It enables interoperability between Go and the SDL2 library which is written in C. That means the original SDL2 installation is required for this to work. Some older versions of the distributions such as Ubuntu 13.10 may also be used but it may miss an optional package such as libsdl2-ttf-dev on Ubuntu 13.10's case which is available in Ubuntu 14.04. Note that the first build may take several minutes on machines that are not powerful such as Raspberry Pi.

This project aims to provide a method for listening on a serial port and decode incoming messages from a Galaxy security control panel. The messages are transmitted using the SIA DC-03-1990.01 (R2000.11) protocol. The decoded messages are stored in a database (MySQL) or forwarded by email using ssmtp.
