Although mass spectrometry is well suited to identifying thousands of potential protein post-translational modifications (PTMs), it has historically been biased towards just a few. To measure the entire set of PTMs across diverse proteomes, software must overcome the dual challenges of covering enormous search spaces and distinguishing correct from incorrect spectrum interpretations. Here, we describe TagGraph, a computational tool that overcomes both challenges with an unrestricted string-based search method that is as much as 350-fold faster than existing approaches, and a probabilistic validation model that we optimized for PTM assignments. ...

    mssqlproxy

    mssqlproxy

Toolkit aimed to perform lateral movement in restricted environments

mssqlproxy is a toolkit aimed to perform lateral movement in restricted environments through a compromised Microsoft SQL Server via socket reuse. The client requires impacket and sysadmin privileges on the SQL server. The first step is to execute code in the SQL Server process context. As extended stored procedures are going to be deprecated in future versions of MSSQL, we pay attention to Microsoft recommendations and thus, use CLR assemblies instead.

    reditools

RNA editing detection by NGS data

REDItools are python scripts developed with the aim to study RNA editing at genomic scale by next generation sequencing data. RNA editing is a post-transcriptional phenomenon involving the insertion/deletion or substitution of specific bases in precise RNA localizations. In human, RNA editing occurs by deamination of cytosine to uridine (C-to-U) or mostly by the adenosine to inosine (A-to-I) conversion through ADAR enzymes. A-to-I substitutions may have profound functional consequences and have been linked to a variety of human diseases including neurological and neurodegenerative disorders or cancer. ...

    Polluted gases Estimator

Create, estimate and analyses gas pollutants and the possible costs

...The reality is that finest and ultra-finest Particulates tends to behave like gas rather than a gas-solids mixture or simply can be transported by vapour. Is the reason why many filtering technologies are ineffective. However, SPS technology is post-combustion system or last stage of production, which results in packaged CO2 or any other gases, without worrying about gas dilution and intrusion processes which more complicated and costly also are not well investigated, that is a setback for many CO2 technology. The SPS technology consists of single device called Gas Purification machine. ...

    Five video classification methods

    Five video classification methods

Code that accompanies my blog post outlining five video classification

Classifying video presents unique challenges for machine learning models. As I’ve covered in my previous posts, video has the added (and interesting) property of temporal features in addition to the spatial features present in 2D images. While this additional information provides us more to work with, it also requires different network architectures and, often, adds larger memory and computational demands. We won’t use any optical flow images. This reduces model complexity, training time, and...
