The Amazon DynamoDB Session Store handles sessions for Ruby web applications using a DynamoDB backend. The session store is compatible with all Rack-based frameworks. For Rails applications, use the aws-sdk-rails gem. The session store is a Rack Middleware, meaning that it will implement the Rack interface for dealing with HTTP request/responses. This session store uses a DynamoDB backend in order to provide scaling and centralized data benefits for session storage with more ease than other containers, like local servers or cookies. Once an application scales beyond a single web server, session data will need to be shared across the servers. DynamoDB takes care of this burden for you by scaling with your application. Cookie storage places all session data on the client side, discouraging sensitive data storage. It also forces strict data size limitations. DynamoDB takes care of these concerns by allowing for a safe and scalable storage container with a much larger data size limit. -

Amazon EKS Pod Identity Webhook
This webhook is for mutating pods that will require AWS IAM access. After version v0.3.0, --in-cluster=true no longer works and is deprecated. Please use --in-cluster=false and manage the cluster certificate with a cert-manager or some other external certificate provisioning system. This is because certificates using the legacy-unknown signer are no longer signed when using the v1 certificates API. Create an OIDC provider in IAM for your cluster. You can find the OIDC discovery endpoint by describing your EKS cluster. Create an IAM role for your pods and modify the trust policy to allow your pod's service account to use the role. All new pod pods launched using this Service Account will be modified to use IAM for pods. Below is an example pod spec with the environment variables and volume fields added by the webhook. To ensure workloads are scheduled on windows nodes have the right environment variables, they must have a nodeSelector targeting windows it must run on. -

The AWS service descriptions are licensed under Apache 2.0. Source files derived from the service descriptions contain an additional licensing clause in their header. GHC versions 8.8.4 and 8.10.7 are officially supported and tested on NixOS, Ubuntu, and macOS. GHC 8.6.5 may also work, but is not tested by our continuous integration pipeline. The Nix package manager is used to obtain and build the other dependencies in a hermetic environment. -

Bliss is just a collection of helpers and light syntactic sugar over Vanilla JS. It does not account for browser bugs or lack of support of certain APIs, although it only uses features that are both supported across most modern browsers and can be polyfilled. For example, it uses Promises throughout (supported by all latest browsers, can be polyfilled), but, despite the temptation, not arrow functions (syntactic extension, cannot be polyfilled). The idea is that you can extend support by using polyfills, depending on your needs. -

CF-Workers-docker.io is a project by cmliu that sets up a proxy for Docker Hub (and potentially other container image registries) using Cloudflare Workers, effectively acting as a middle-man mirror to improve image pull reliability and speed in regions where direct access is degraded. The idea is to intercept registry requests, reroute or mirror them through a worker endpoint, and therefore bypass regional limitations or firewall blocks affecting official Docker registries. Users can deploy their own copy of this proxy, point their Docker daemon’s registry-mirrors configuration to it, and benefit from an accelerated and more accessible image pull experience. The project’s README warns about possible policy risks—since Cloudflare’s terms forbid use of Workers for VPN or similar proxy services, so users deploy at their own risk. It also includes instructions for setting up both Docker daemon and containerd/podman equivalents by customizing configuration files. -

All sites owned by EU citizens or targeted towards EU citizens must comply to a crazy EU law. This law requires a dialog to be displayed to inform the users of your websites how cookies are being used. You can read more info on the legislation on the site of the European Commission. The newest Laravel package made by my colleagues at Spatie and myself makes your app compliant with that law. When the user clicks "Allow cookies" a laravel_cookie_consent cookie will be set and the dialog will be removed from the DOM. On the next request Laravel will notice that the laravel_cookie_consent has been set and will not display the dialog again. The legislation is pretty very vague on how to display the warning, which texts are necessary, and what options you need to provide. This package will go a long way towards compliance, but if you want to be 100% sure that your website is ok, you should consult a legal expert. -

Linux Dash comes in well under 1MB of source code and only shows data when client browsers request it. Unlike server-side agent processes, Linux Dash does not gather or maintain historical data-sets, allowing its purpose and footprint to remain focused to a smaller surface area. Pjax is a standalone JavaScript module that uses AJAX (XmlHttpRequest) and pushState() to deliver a fast browsing experience. It allows you to completely transform the user experience of standard websites (server-side generated or static ones) to make users feel like they are browsing an app, especially for those with low bandwidth connections. Pjax does not rely on other libraries, like jQuery or similar. It is written entirely in vanilla JS. Pjax loads pages using AJAX and updates the browser's current URL using pushState() without reloading your page's layout or any resources (JS, CSS), giving a fast page load. It works with all permalinks and can update all the parts of the page you want (including HTML metas, title, and navigation state). It listens to every click on links you want (by default all of them). When an internal link is clicked, Pjax fetches the page's HTML via AJAX. -
