    Lean 4

    Lean 4

Lean 4 programming language and theorem prover

Lean 4 is both a programming language and an interactive theorem prover, designed to support formal reasoning while also functioning as an efficient and extensible general-purpose language. The project serves researchers, mathematicians, programmers, and formal methods users who need a system for writing machine-checked proofs as well as executable programs in the same environment. One of its defining characteristics is its emphasis on extensibility, since Lean 4 is built to allow users to develop custom automation, metaprogramming tools, and domain-specific extensions instead of being limited to a fixed proving workflow. The broader Lean ecosystem also includes official tutorials, language references, examples, and installation and build tools, which reflects that the project is not just a core compiler repository but the center of a mature development platform.

    ArnoldC

    ArnoldC

    Arnold Schwarzenegger based programming language

ArnoldC is a programming language built as a joke language, where the entire syntax is based on quotes from Arnold Schwarzenegger movies. Instead of conventional keywords and operators, it uses memorable movie lines to represent programming constructs like conditionals, loops, and functions. For example, “IT’S SHOWTIME” starts the main method, “TALK TO THE HAND” represents output, and “I’LL BE BACK” denotes a return statement. While humorous in nature, the language is fully functional and can be used to write real programs, showcasing how flexible compiler and interpreter design can be. The project is a playful experiment in esoteric programming languages, intended to entertain developers while also serving as an example of how language parsing and compilation can work with unconventional syntax. It demonstrates the overlap between pop culture and software development, turning famous lines into executable logic.

    PLT (Programming Languages Theory)

    PLT (Programming Languages Theory)

    Programming Language Theory

Curated roadmap to Programming Language Theory, collecting seminal papers, books, and resources into a navigable structure for self-study. It spans foundational topics like lambda calculus, type systems, interpreters, compilers, and formal semantics, while also pointing to contemporary areas such as effect systems, dependent types, and verification. Each section clusters materials by theme so learners can build understanding step by step instead of grazing at random. The list emphasizes primary sources and high-quality lectures, encouraging readers to engage with rigorous treatments rather than superficial summaries. It’s designed to serve both as a starting guide for newcomers and as a reference index for experienced practitioners, filling in gaps. By treating PL theory as an accessible, progressive curriculum, the repository lowers the barrier to serious study without diluting the subject.

    Mangle

    Mangle

Go library for Datalog-style logical reasoning and domain modeling

Mangle is a programming language developed by Google for deductive database programming, serving as an advanced extension of Datalog. It is designed to unify and query data from multiple sources in a structured, declarative way while allowing developers to model complex relationships and domain knowledge beyond binary predicates. Mangle enhances traditional Datalog by introducing features such as aggregation, function calls, and optional type-checking, which make it more practical for modern data-intensive applications. Unlike SQL, Mangle’s declarative syntax naturally supports recursion and modular program structure, making it suitable for representing hierarchical or interconnected datasets like dependency graphs or knowledge graphs. The project’s implementation is provided as a Go library, enabling developers to embed Mangle directly into their applications or services, such as database-like gRPC systems.

    Mega Project List

    Mega Project List

List of practical projects that anyone can solve in any prog language

Mega Project List by Karan Goel is a massive list of practical programming project ideas that anyone can solve in any programming language, organized into logical categories (Numbers, Classic Algorithms, Data Structures, Text, Networking, Web, Files, Graphics & Multimedia, Security, etc.). The concept is simple but powerful: instead of just memorizing algorithms, you pick a project (for example “Binary to Decimal and Back Converter”), implement it in your favorite language, and gradually build a portfolio of varied programming tasks. The repository has been widely referenced as a go-to for developers looking for ideas to practice, build side-projects, or create interview-prep exercises. Each entry is described in plain language, often with optional “added complexity” suggestions. The repo encourages contributions: you can add new projects, or strip duplicate items, and you can choose any language to implement.

    mruby

    mruby

    Lightweight Ruby

mruby is a lightweight implementation of the Ruby programming language designed for embedding and integration into applications, particularly in resource-constrained environments such as embedded systems or game engines. It maintains compatibility with modern Ruby syntax while offering a significantly reduced footprint compared to the standard Ruby interpreter. The system includes its own virtual machine, bytecode compiler, and interactive shell, enabling developers to write, compile, and execute Ruby code efficiently. One of its core strengths is its embeddability, allowing developers to integrate scripting capabilities directly into applications written in C or C++. mruby also includes a package system called mrbgems, which enables modular extension of functionality through additional libraries. It supports compiling Ruby scripts into bytecode or even C source code, providing flexibility for deployment in different environments.

    MPL Bytecode Compiler

    MPL Bytecode Compiler

Micro Programming Language - A Portable Language for Micro Computers

NEWS: The MPL language is now completely defined. No more language changes are to be made. The compiler is complete and should be easy to translate to other languages if you so choose. MPL is a small, simple language based on BCPL, B, C and Jesusonic. The compiler and interpreter are written in portable Pascal. I have successfully compiled MPL for CP/M, DOS, Windows, Atari ST, Amiga and the Tandy Colour Computer. MPL is designed to be tiny in every way, while implementing all the important features of BCPL & B. The result is a compiler written in a high level language (PASCAL) which compiles to under 16K (CP/M). The symbol table, language syntax, and bytecode are all optimized for size. I will write a MPL Reference Manual in time. Contact myself if you want to help get that written.

Ficl - small systems scripting with OO
Ficl is a lightweight, embeddable scripting language designed to be incorporated into other programs, and especially embedded systems that may have memory and OS constraints. Applications include scripting, hardware bring-up, rapid prototyping, and system extensions. Unlike Lua or Python, Ficl acts as a component of your system - you feed it stuff to do, it does the stuff, and comes back to you for more. You can export compiled code to Ficl, execute Ficl code from your compiled code, or interact. Your choice.

    NetRexx

The open sourced NetRexx reference implementation

NetRexx is a dialect of the REXX programming language to run on the Java virtual machine. It supports a classic REXX syntax, with no reserved keywords, along with considerable additions to support object-oriented programming in a manner compatible with Java's object model, yet can be used as both a compiled and an interpreted language, with an option of using only data types native to the JVM or the NetRexx runtime package. Originally from IBM, NetRexx is the creation of Mike Cowlishaw, the 'Father of Rexx'. This IBM product has been open sourced in 2011.
