A collection of performance analysis software that can assist with a variety of techniques useful for application software optimization and benchmarking. The current release provides support for analysis with hardware performance counters on Linux.

Libinstrument is a complete and easy way to do custom function instrumentation for C/C++. The project comes ready with classic applications of instrumentation, such as AOP (Aspect Oriented Programming), Concern and Side Effect injection, stack tracing, exception tracing, basic time profiling, callgraph profiling and other. A GC (Garbage Collector) module is also under development. Libinstrument is highly portable and decoupled. The project comes with a CMake build system, integration with IDEs (CLion, Eclipse e.t.c) is straightforward. Using lazy algorithms there is virtually zero overhead in benchmarks and minimum overhead in execution time. Libinstrument tries to be as non-intrusive as possible, while trying to help the developer offering basic reflection. There are Unit Tests for each class and method, testing is driven with CTest.

This project born a few years ago when I encountered a fatal bug on a production environment, unfortunately not replicable on my development machine. I spent many time finding a solution, using also freeware and commercial third-party tools and libraries, but none helped me because the bug crashed the process, and no of the above tools could be able to catch the exception before the process dying. Also, it was not possible to install a development environment onto the production machines, so the only solution was to develop a debugger which didn't need any user/developer interaction. I used many open source resources, then I decided to make the Bug Finder an open source project. It is built over a pluggable architecture to support other languages different from Borland Delphi (the one I used to develop my faulting application and the Bug Finder too). What is QProf ? QProf is a visual tool for developers, which displays the execution profiling output generated by code profilers. The output of profilers being usually difficult to read (beyond the flat profile information), QProf presents the information in list- or tree-views that make the information very easy to understand. This project was ported from KProf (Qt3/KDE) project.

Tool for monitoring of OCI client applications [f.e.: TOAD/TOra, or any OCI-based fat client] interaction with Oracle Database. Monitors SQL statements and values passed/fetched between client application and RDBMS. Consists of simple and nice GUI [C#] and events handler [C++] with quite a lot of OCI hacking. Interface between handlers and tool's GUI is through tailing of XML "pipeline" files in $HOME/.ocimonitor directory. Tool is quite similar to Quest SQLMonitor, which is unable to trace values.

'Sleepy' is a non-invasive profiler for the Windows platform that allows statistical profiling of applications through sampling the instruction pointer register. Sleepy presents results in a GUI built with wxWindows.
