Masscan is an Internet-scale port scanner, able to scan the entire Internet in just 6 minutes or less. It's considered the fastest port scanner and is similar to the famous port scanner nmap, and like port scanners scanrand and unicornscan it uses asynchronous transmissions. However, it is more flexible when it comes to arbitrary port and address ranges. Masscan not only detects when ports are open, it can also check banners. And while it is useful for smaller, internal networks, it's designed with the entire internet in mind. Do take note however that Masscan uses its own custom TCP/IP stack, so anything other than a simple port scan could cause conflict with the local TCP/IP stack unless certain configurations are done.

ZMap is a fast single packet network scanner designed for Internet-wide network surveys. On a typical desktop computer with a gigabit Ethernet connection, ZMap is capable scanning the entire public IPv4 address space in under 45 minutes. With a 10gigE connection and PF_RING, ZMap can scan the IPv4 address space in under 5 minutes. ZMap operates on GNU/Linux, Mac OS, and BSD. ZMap currently has fully implemented probe modules for TCP SYN scans, ICMP, DNS queries, UPnP, BACNET, and can send a large number of UDP probes. If you are looking to do more involved scans, e.g., banner grab or TLS handshake, take a look at ZGrab 2, ZMap's sister project that performs stateful application-layer handshakes. ZDNS is a utility for performing fast DNS lookups, such as completing an A lookup for all names in a zone file, or collecting CAA records for a large number of websites. ZDNS contains its own recursive resolver and supports A, AAAA, ANY, AXFR, CAA, CNAME, DMARC, MX, NS, PTR, TXT, etc.

jNetMap is a graphical network monitoring and documentation tool. It will ping all registered devices every x minutes, updating the status according to the result of the ping. Requires Java 8 or higher

Smap is a passive port scanner designed as a drop-in alternative to Nmap while using Shodan.io data. It accepts many familiar Nmap-style command-line arguments and can produce Nmap-like output formats, which makes it easier to integrate into existing workflows. Because it relies on Shodan’s free API, it can scan quickly without directly contacting targets in its default mode. The project emphasizes speed, with support for scanning large numbers of hosts per second. Smap can provide service and version fingerprinting, vulnerability detection, and results in formats such as XML, greppable, normal, JSON, and custom output. It is useful for authorized reconnaissance where fast external visibility matters, while users should remember that passive results may be delayed or incomplete compared with active scanning.

This project is used to establish a TCP/UDP port mapping from an ISP NAT public address to a local private address. If all layers of NAT are full cones (NAT-1), any host can access internal services through the mapped public address. In bind mode, all traffic does not go through this program.

xpoc is a lightweight command-line scanner created for fast emergency response in supply chain vulnerability scanning. It is designed to help security teams test single targets, multiple targets, and target lists through direct input, files, or pipes. The tool can retrieve proof-of-concept plugins from the cloud, list available plugins, synchronize new plugins, and update itself from the command line.
