    RSM

Radiation Spectrum Method : a modal BPM (Beam Propagation Method)

RSM (Radiation Spectrum Method) is a 2D rigorous tool to solve the Maxwell equations for the propagation of light in integrated optics or photonics devices. It makes use of an EigenMode Expansion method (EME) to solve the electromagnetic problem. This software running on Windows and MacOS comes with a GUI that permits to define with the aid of files or scripts the arbitrary and complex geometry of the waveguide. Of that way any waveguide geometry can be handled. Several plots are available...

    MSU's Sparse Fourier Repository

The Home of DMSFT, AAFFT, GFFT, and MSFFT.

...But, the *algorithm* itself is significantly simpler and has "essentially no parameters". 4.) MSFFT, implemented by David Lawlor and Bosu Choi. This code is fast, but is not terribly easy to use. The algorithm is robust to some noise, but requires a lot of parameter tuning. Enjoy at your own risk :), Mark Iwen

sandbox particle simulator that obeys schrödinger's equation

Enjoy bizarre Quantum Mechanics animations by throwing a 2D particle in arbitrary environments. There is infinite freedom in customizing the potentials: draw out absurd terrains, or opt for standard experiments such as double-slit. The project's purpose is to aid the user in building intuition for the peculiar workings of the quantum realm. As such, it aims to be user-friendly and does not require prior knowledge of QM. Currently only available for macOS and Windows users (Linux...

    Runge

Runge is an Interactive Solver for Systems of Differential Equations

Runge is an Interactive Solver for Systems of Ordinary Differential Equations. It solves initial value problem (aka Cauchy problem). Few advantages Runge provides: It's fast. It utilizes BLAS and LAPACK libraries optimized for modern multi-core processors. It's interactive. It allows you to start a solution by mouse click on a plane. It's precise. It uses Runge Rule to adjust step length to satisfy required precision on each step. It's effective. When it needs to compute derivatives (Jacobian matrix, for example) it does that analytically, i.e. without using numerical methods. ...
