    We needed a datalogger, we found one. But the supplied VB6 program was very crappy, _really_ unusable, even on old XP machines. So I did mine, able to run under windows and linux. All the fun was to reverse the (binary) RS232 protocol. Our is a YC-727D with 2 thermocouple inputs, but the protocol is the same for 1, 2, 3 or 4 inputs models (YC-717, YC-727, YC-737, YC-747). Bytes orders needs to be checked for 3th and 4nd channels tough.

This library aims at filling this gap, in particular considering discrete wavelet transform as described by Percival and Walden. This module started as translation of the wmtsa Matlab toolbox (http://www.atmos.washington.edu/~wmtsa/), so most naming conventions and most of the code structure follows their choices.

    gamma rays from hadronic processes in astrophysics

    Cosmic-ray hadronic interaction matrices for gamma-ray and other secondaries for an interstellar medium target are available as described in Huang et al. Astroparticle Physics, 27, 429 (2007). These require significant effort in practice to compute emissivities for given input spectra. To supplement these matrices I provide here a C++ class which reads the matrices, interpolates on user-defined particle and gamma-ray energy grids, and computes the gamma-ray emissivity either differential or in user-defined bands. A sample user program is provided which can be edited to provide the required functionality. See also http://sourceforge.net/projects/galprop, which includes more models.

    Entanglement of Photons

    Time Travel is possible

    Jay Olson and Timothy Ralph recently put forward a theory that entangled photons can travel through time or at least take a short-cut through time using their method. As I understand it, the first photon is destroyed when measured however an exact copy is created in the future using qubits from the original photon. This is a simulation using one of their examples.
