Zgoubi is a raytracing code. Since 1972 it pushes charged particles through accelerators and beam lines, by stepwise solution of Lorentz force equation - and their spins via Thomas-BMT differential equation. Zgoubi simulates beam dynamics and polarization in a variety of accelerators (storage ring, synchrotron, cyclotron, betatron, microtron, FFAG, multi-pass ERL, etc) and optical systems (beam lines, magnetic and electrostatic optical components, time-of-flight and mass spectrometers, etc). The code includes built-in fitting procedures with a wide variety of constraints; stochastic SR energy loss; the tracking of synchrotron radiation (SR) Poynting vector; space charge models; various Monte Carlo procedures, etc. Contact: francoisgmeot@gmail.com Documentation (History of accelerators that zgoubi deals with, theory, tutorials): https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-031-59979-8 https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-031-16715-7, Chap. 14.

    Laser Control Utility

    Laser Control Utility

RS232 based Nd:YAG laser control and automation interface

The Laser Control Utility was developed to easily handle TTL communication between any instrumentation and the Continuum Surelight laser series. This is achieved by monitoring a TTL signal via the computer LTP1 port, whose signal is transmitted via RS232 to the laser unit, also used to control basic laser parameters, like pulse divider (laser frequency) and Q-Switch. The Shutter modulation feature allows the user to use the TTL signal to open the laser shutter on demand, controlling the length of the laser pulsed as desired. This method yields reproducible full power laser pulses. The original motivation was to interface mass spectrometer data systems to diverse laser systems. Developed by: Jair Menegon, Paulo Moreira and Thiago Correra - University of São Paulo - Brazil.

    MieConScat
MieConScat is a GUI/Console program for generating MIE SCATtering data as a table of cross sections. It can generate scattering cross sections over specified angular ranges and total absorption cross sections. It was initially developed to aid work with optical particle counters (OPC) especially when CONverting data between cross section and diameter space. These methods are described in Rosenberg et al. 2012, Particle sizing calibration with refractive index correction for light scattering optical particle counters and impacts upon PCASP and CDP data collected during the Fennec campaign and CDP data collected during the Fennec campaign, http://www.atmos-meas-tech.net/5/1147/2012/amt-5-1147-2012.html

    Rocstar Multiphysics Application

    Parallel coupled multiphysics simulation application

Rocstar is a multiphysics simulation application designed to do fluid-structure interaction (FSI) across moving, reacting interfaces. Rocstar couples multiple domain-specific simulation packages and disparately discretized domains and provides several simulation-supporting services including conservative and accurate data transfer, surface propagation, and parallel I/O. Rocstar is MPI parallel and routinely executes large simulations on massively parallel platforms. Rocstar was originally developed at the University of Illinois Center for Simulation of Advanced Rockets (CSAR) under Department of Energy ASCI funding. Ongoing development of Rocstar is conducted by Illinois Rocstar LLC with company IR&D and continued DOE SBIR funding.

     VASPMO

    VASPMO

Visualization of wavefunctions calculated by VASP (New release: v0.41)

VASPMO aims at visualizing wavefunctions (or molecular orbitals) from VASP calculations. It reads VASP's output files PROCAR and CONTCAR, and exports an *.out file in Gaussian's output format, which can be visualized by many popular visualization tools, such as JMol, Molekel, Chemcraft, Gabedit and Molden, etc. These tools can further generate *.cube files, which can be visualized by an even wider range of softwares.

NESSIE is a modern first-principle calculation software that can adequately address the need for ever-higher levels of numerical accuracy and high-performance in large-scale electronic structure simulations, as well as pioneer the fundamental study of quantum many-body effects in a large number of emerging nanomaterials. NESSIE is an electronic structure code that uses a real-space FEM discretization and domain-decomposition (DD) to perform all-electron ground-state DFT and real-time excited-state TDDFT calculations. The code is written to take advantage of multilevel parallelisms of the FEAST eigenvalue solver to target systems containing many distributed-memory compute nodes. The real space mesh is generated using the software tetgen.

    Ultrashort Pulse Propagator

    Ultrashort Pulse Propagator

A powerful simulation for designing femtosecond lasers and amplifiers.

This is a simulation package developed for numerical simulation of ultrashort pulse propagation in optical media and pulse generation from mode-locked lasers. Although the code is primarily intended for investigations of fiber links, fiber amplifiers and fiber lasers, it can be applied to any other setting for which the governing equiations are valid. The physics included in the code is based on a generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation, including higher order dispersion, stimulated Raman effect, gain with bandwidth limitation and saturation, loss, and saturable absorption. Disclaimer: The simulation code is provided free of charge for the use of the academic community only. We kindly ask the users to acknowledge use of the code in academic settings. We do not accept responsibility for any errors or omissions that may be present. Çağrı Şenel, Punya Prasanna Paltani, Fatih Ömer Ilday
