Wavelet smoothing in a data stream
It is often necessary to smooth high frequency fluctuations out of data streams sequenced by time, position, etc. The 'smooth' utility applies such smoothing using the wavelet algorithm. This implementation of wavelet smoothing was optimized for use in a data stream. It was adapted from HMMSeg Wavelet.Java by Thomas E. Wilson, University of Michigan. I have written this short script to correct vowel mutation (Umlaut) errors in filenames. This errors typically occur when you copy files to a system with UTF-8 charset from a system using another charset. One typical case is when a Windows-Client transfers files via FTP on a server using UTF-8. Such errors can't be corrected using convmv. -

This is mostly a pet project of mine. Using the rules for Eschaton set forth in David Foster Wallace's novel "Infinite Jest," I've been developing a program that can be used for a real, live game of Eschaton. It's still in the early stages, and I'm planning on adding more features. Still, the program is featured enough to be used for a real game. -
