...We are using the Desktop Environment Xfce, which is light but powerfull. Arch Linux is a great GNU/Linux distribution, but installing and configuring it, needs some time and experience. So we improved Arch Linux. We created a more user friendly installation process, wrote bash scripts for managing graphic drivers, configured xfce with some useful functions and a GUI settings manager is also planed. Just try it. ;) -

PrometheOS is a Desktop and portable Operating System based on Gentoo Linux which aim to boost Linux performances and responsiveness on Desktop computers, laptops and mobile devices. I do work on this project on my spare time so things are a bit slow proceeding, but there is already some screenshot of "the thing" working on some of my test systems. I always wanted to have an operating system that is very fast, secure, open and that give best supports to games, mobile life (so working on all my devices and sharing notifications among them etc...) and that offers native support for anonymity on the internet. ...

...Currently the main holes that prevent a conventional distro from being ported is that there is no support for pipes, most signals, and also symbolic links and lastly traditional forks are not currently possible in an efficent way.The current implementation gets around forking and has limited vfork capability.
