Auto-discovery finds your devices and deploys pre-configured sensors instantly. No project plan required, just visibility from day one.
Waiting weeks for a monitoring rollout isn't an option when infrastructure doesn't stop running. PRTG's auto-discovery scans your network and suggests from over 200 pre-configured sensor types, so you're watching servers, applications and devices within minutes, not after a multi-week deployment. Enterprise-strength monitoring, without the enterprise complexity. Start your free trial today.

BadTuxWall will help you to implement your own firewall on a Linux operating system using an efficient graphical user interface. It also allows you to generate iptables scripts, export them and share them with friends.
Bait and Switch combines IDS tech (Snort primarily) and Honeypots into a new, more valuable, reactive system. After receiving an alert, B&S protects your server by silently redirecting hostile traffic to a honeypot while leaving other traffic alone.
Ballast is a tool for balancing user load across SSH servers that supports user-specific policies as well as traditional policies based on metrics such as CPU load. It includes a simple client, a lightweight data server, and a data collection agent.
Balbec is a visualization addon for nagios. It displays host and service info either in html for the enduser or in xml for further processing. As Balbec uses nagios hostgroups it's not necessary to maintain a complex seperate configuration.
Bandwidth Control is a modest but robust packet shaper able to perform most common tasks of traffic shaping (QoS). With Bandwidth Control + mrtg + Redhat/Centos Linux you will get a perfect control over your network limiting the bandwidth usage.
Bandwidth Management Tools is a total bandwidth management solution for Linux and can be used for firewalling, traffic graphing, and shaping. It is not based on any currently-available bandwidth management software some ver advanced features.
Based off of bandwidthd (http://sourceforge.net/projects/bandwidthd) but updated to support large networks (13,000+ devices). IPv6 support is in the works. Our thanks goes to the original authors of bandwidthd who made this possible.
Patch, monitor, and connect to Windows and macOS devices from one console
Splashtop AEM handles patching, alerts, scripts, and inventory, and unattended remote control is included. When something needs hands-on work, you’re one click away instead of switching tools.
Output spool reader for Snort! This program decouples output overhead from the Snort network intrusion detection system and allows Snort to run at full speed. It takes input and output plugins and can therefore be used to convert almost any spooled fil
Traffic accounting system written in bash. Requires cron, bc, sed, iptables. Provides daily/hourly/weekly/monthly/yearly statistical information about certain iptable chains. requires basic knowledget about network masks and iptables.
A set of portable shell/perl scripts to use to be a "bastard operator". They should work on most *nix platforms with a little modification. They are for use for little pranks in the office, not for destructive use.

BastionX is a suite of bash scripts which provide a firewall system using netfilter on linux.
Some of the supported features are flow control & QoS, local & WAN ip blacklists, dynamic trusted hosts, DMZ feature, auto detection of interfaces.
Bedrock Framework is a set of low-level .NET networking APIs for building high-performance custom servers and clients. Its architecture focuses on transport-agnostic communication so protocols are not tightly coupled to a specific network mechanism. Builder APIs provide structured ways to configure client and server pipelines. The core package includes middleware and transports for sockets and in-memory communication. A separate experimental package contains protocol and transport implementations that may eventually move into the main framework. The project builds on connection abstractions introduced in ASP.NET Core for client-server communication. It is primarily intended for developers creating specialized networking stacks where performance, protocol control, and composability matter.
Benson is an automated monitoring system designed to ease the life of a network, system,
and database administrator. Benson harness the power of Perl for flexibility all while maintaining the low foot print required of a networked monitoring system.
Berkley Snoop protocol module for Linux. Purpose: avoid speed reduction between big fat pipe (satellite) and wireless links caused by error prone nature of wireless links.
PHP/HTML IP accounting table displaying in/outgoing traffic accumulated a) this month and b) since the manual counter was last reset for any host in a subnet. Data is counted by a set of IP tables rules and stored in a mysql database.
Under Windows 8, access to delete wireless networks are no longer available. You can still use netsh command to do this. However it only deletes the network profile but not network list (i.e. you might notice issues such as Network 1, 2, 3, ... etc). I have not found an easier way to delete both under Windows 8, thus the existence of this tool.

The Big Brother Watcher is a Perl/Python server/client application to relay monitoring events directly to a user's desktop from either Big Brother or The Hobbit Monitor.
BigBen is a client/server application, written in Perl,
and built to monitor the status of several systems from
a central point. It monitors processes, disk space and system load
in a configurable way.
