TraceMAC - Traceroute for MAC addresses

TraceMAC - Traceroute for MAC addresses

TraceMAC is a command-line Layer 2 traceroute for Cisco switches

TraceMAC is a Windows/Linux command-line tool that allows you to trace a specific MAC address thru Cisco switches. It works by connecting to a switch using SSH, SNMP, Telnet, HTTP or HTTPS and do some "show commands" and later process the output, this will happen recursively until it finds the switch where that MAC address (PC/Printer/Etc) is directly connected. Note: It works with Cisco switches only and you must have CDP enabled at least on trunks/links between switches! Is tested with Cisco switches: Catalyst: 2960,3560,3750,4948,6509,9200,9300,9500 (All protocols) Nexus: C9332C, 93180YC-EX (NX-OS SSH) Express 500 (HTTP) FYI: It uses Nbtscan.exe (NetBIOS) as a alternative method to discover the mac address of a host and now seems that it is considered a malware. Anyway it is just a simple network tool that can scan the network similar to NMAP or Angry IP Scanner, etc...

    Madara

    Middleware for distributed applications

The purpose of the project is to develop a portable programming framework that facilitates distributed and multi-threaded programming for C++, Java, and Python. MADARA was originally developed as an agent-based middleware specifically for real-time, distributed artificial intelligence, but is now more general purpose for distributed timing, control, knowledge and reasoning, and quality-of-service. MADARA is composed of several tools and middleware, and the main entry point into the system is the Knowledge and Reasoning Language (KaRL) Engine, which provides a real-time scripting language for nanosecond execution times hooked into a flexible transport layer for distributed reasoning. The KaRL engine also supports object-oriented C++, Java, and Python programming through Containers, classes that provide abstractions and references for variable location within the KaRL Knowledge Base. This project is currently in process of being ported from http://madara.googlecode.com.

    frr

    frr

This is a non-official VM of FRRouting (FRR)

FRRouting (FRR) is an IP routing protocol suite for Linux and Unix platforms which includes protocol daemons for BGP, IS-IS, LDP, OSPF, PIM, and RIP. FRR’s seamless integration with the native Linux/Unix IP networking stacks makes it applicable to a wide variety of use cases including connecting hosts/VMs/containers to the network, advertising network services, LAN switching and routing, Internet access routers, and Internet peering. FRR has its roots in the Quagga project. In fact, it was started by many long-time Quagga developers who combined their efforts to improve on Quagga's well-established foundation in order to create the best routing protocol stack available. We invite you to participate in the FRRouting community and help shape the future of networking. This is not an official release from the FRRouting Project. Credentials: frradmin / frr

    hwmonitor

Show server load-average chart and run pre-define command remotely

I'm a HW Support and used cacti, zabbix, but they are too "strong", sometimes I just want to know server "worked fine", and show me a basicly load-average chart, that's enough. And the other hand, I need run command (like: "top", "iostat", "date" etc.) remotely and show it out to the webpage. The hwmonitor(writen in C) is a simple daemon, you can define some command-name(like: show_top= top -b -n1), telnet to this daemon and input your def-command(like: show_top), hwmonitor will return the info. And hwclient(include in this project, writen in C) connect to hwmonitor, input a define command-name to get server load-average and IO-idle each 60 seconds(you can change it) into a text file. hwgraphic (include in this project, writen in PHP) read the text file(generated by hwclient) and show the load-average chart and IO-idle chart.
