    VisualVNC

VisualVNC is a connector between virtual network and physical network.

VisualVNC is a connector between virtual network and physical network. A virtual network mainly refers to the topology created by GNS3 (Graphical Network Simulator, a popular network simulator), the physical network means the real machines or virtual machines (created by VMware, virtualbox and so on) which are running Windows.

    WSN-simulation

Simulation of a routing protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks(WSN)

The WSN simulator is network simulator specifically designed for wireless sensor networks simulations. It is specifically designed for my own research works. The results may or may not be accurate as other widely renown simulation tools like ns2, netsim, opnet, etc. It uses a multithreaded approach of running events of a network. It was the best solution that I thought which could also help in easily producing randomness in the event scheduling. It takes a configuration file as input of which the format is defined by the software itself. To know the details of the configuration format checkout the file 'input.config'. This file is used to create simulation environment according to the user's preferences.

XG-PON Module for NS-3 (moved to GitHub)

Codebase moved to GitHub - use the Blue button or link in Description

2023-03-20: the latest version of the XG-PON model for ns-3.35 is in GitHub (https://github.com/ajerikko/xgpon4ns3-v3/releases/tag/v3.1). It contains major changes to example code. Please use it for new activities. 10-Gigabit-capable Passive Optical Network (XG-PON), is regarded as one of the key technologies for future Internet access networks. This project develops an XG-PON module for the NS-3 network simulator - a G987 (ITU-T) standards-compliant, configurable, and extensible module that can simulate XG-PON that can support a wide range of research topics. This work was supported in part by SFI through CTVR. Please use the below citation when using this module: Arokkiam, Jerome A, Pedro Alvarez, Xiuchao Wu, Kenneth N Brown, Cormac J Sreenan, Marco Ruffini, Nicola Marchetti, Linda Doyle, and David Payne. “Design, Implementation, and Evaluation of an XG-PON Module for the Ns-3 Network Simulator.” SIMULATION 93, no. 5 (May 2017): 409–26. doi: 10.1177/0037549716682093

    evotopo

Evolving Realistic Topologies for Wireless Network Simulation

There is a need for realistic node topologies for simulating and testing wireless network protocols. The softare evoTopo is able to generate multiple different topologies based on a given reference example, typically from a real-world setup. Based on this an evolutionary algorithm evolves new topology files with equal parameters regarding node density, distribution homogeneity and network properties such as node degree distrbution. evoTopo can be used with any wireless network simulator that will accept a node position file of some form. The reference file must be given in .csv format listing the x- and y-coordinates of the nodes. evoTopo is written in Java and will run on Java 6 or higher. It is released under the GPL v3 license. It comes with reference topology files in .csv format for mesh networks deployed in Berlin, Wien, Leipzig and MIT. See the README file for further information.

    ns2-wimax-awg

WIMAX Model for ns-2.36 implementing IEEE 802.16-2012 OFDMA.

The earlier version of this NS-2 add-on (for OFDM PHY) was developed at NIST. At the WiMAX Forum Plenary Meeting at Hawaii (January 30 - February 2, 2007), the decision to merge the independent development efforts supported by Application Architecture Task Group (AATG), WiMAX Forum and NIST was taken. In 2009 the source code was made available to public though the website http://community.4gdeveloper.com/ and is moved from Google code to sourceforge gain a broader attention. Credit is given to everybody who contributed to this software module, especially the development teams at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL). Last but not least we would like to the Application Working Group (AWG) of the WIMAX Forum for there support. This module is based on the network simulator ns-2.36 and implements the IEEE 802.16-2012 MAC layer based on WirelessMAN-OFDMA.
