Toadflax is a graphical tool for displaying and editing/manipulating tunes in abc notation. It exists in two forms, Toadflax built using GTK and py_toadflax built using tkinter, the python window toolkit. It allows the user to load in abc music notation files and work on each one independently. The music is displayed on-screen, without needing to use a PostScript interpreter, making it a lightweight notation viewer. Chord Reporter
Linux program displays the names of musical chords as you play them.
Chord Reporter (hereafter abbreviated to CR) is a software program that displays the names of chords, as you play them (upon some MIDI controller or from a MIDI sequencer track). CR comes in two versions. There is an LV2 plugin that will run on any Linux program that loads such plugins. In that way, you can anaylze the chord progressions in your DAW's MIDI tracks. The second version is a Linux executable that runs on its own. You can directly attach your MIDI controller to this version to review the chords you're playing (as you play them). A suitable MIDI controller would be either a MIDI keyboard, a guitar equipped with a MIDI pickup such as the Fishman triple play, or even an electric guitar pickup plugged into a computer audio interface running pitch-to-MIDI software. -

abcCairo is a project to create a Cairo backend for abcm2ps, enabling it to generate output in the formats supported by the Cairo library; PNG, SVG and PDF. abcm2ps is a command line program written by Jean-François Moine which converts abc music notation to music sheet in PostScript or SVG format.
