Our idea for vgl is to build an object oriented Vector Graphics Library written in C++ using openGL for rendering. The focus of the library is to construct a clean object model that is exceptionally fast. We plan to support Linux, Win32 and Mac OS X.

video-to-ascii is a Python-based command-line tool that converts and plays video files directly in the terminal using ASCII characters as visual representations. It processes each frame of a video, maps pixel brightness and color values to characters, and renders them in real time within terminal constraints. The tool adapts video resolution to match terminal dimensions, ensuring a coherent and readable output despite limited character space. It can optionally include audio playback when additional dependencies such as FFmpeg and PortAudio are installed. The project supports multiple rendering strategies and allows exporting ASCII output to files for sharing or reuse. It also includes color approximation using ANSI palettes to enhance visual fidelity within terminal limitations. Designed as both a creative and technical project, it demonstrates how video data can be transformed into text-based representations.

Present video folder overview in a novel way. Have a lot of files from camcorder or action cam. Need to sort them, dispose poor videos, edit (shorten) some that are to long and so on. The usual file managers show only 1 thumbnail per video, that is not enough. Note this is not a video editor but a special file manager to manage home videos by showing better information on your videos. Requirements: Python3, Gkt3, ffmpeg.

wtf2osc converts several protocols to OSC (Open Sound Control) and back again and though makes it possible to use them in software like pd, Max or SuperCollider. Currently it supports only DMX and HTTP, expect more to come.
