PicPodz is on the Mac App Store (http://is.gd/iAEWHn) PicPodz is an OS X 10.10 desktop photo slideshow in the form of a sphere. Just drag images into the window then change modes. Pics will change randomly. Resize or maximize to suit your needs. I recommend organizing copies of pics into folders, rather than using originals. Just select all images and drop them into the window.

PicaSto is a system for decentralized picture storage and sharing on the internet with separation of content and presentation. It uses the RDF metadata model to make the metadata available independently of the actual pictures.

SVGKit is a Cocoa framework for rendering SVG files natively, it's fast and powerful. SVGKit is an image library, so rather than Unit Tests we have a large set of sample SVG's that we use to check everything is working OK. All the images are included in the "Demo-iOS" app (that comes with SVGKit). If you have many images to add at once (hundreds) then there's a different technique that lets you add an entire folder at once. The preview images are "correct" versions, they show what the image SHOULD look like (with a correct SVG renderer). Open up "Demo-iOS.xcodeproj", and run it (on simulator or device). Try different SVG's. Zoom, pan, and (with the Monkey only:) hit the "Animate" button. Tap the images to see bounding boxes/hit detection (might need you to hit the Debug button first).

The Semantic Time Framework is a multimedia "meta-framework" that provides more high-level abstractions of time. STF enables developers to more quickly and easily develop interactive applications with time-based media.

Shimmer is a lightweight Objective-C library by Facebook that adds an elegant, animated shimmering effect to views—used as a subtle loading indicator, such as in the Paper app. There's also an example project. In the example, you can swipe horizontally and vertically to try various shimmering parameters, or tap to start or stop shimmering. (To build the example locally, you'll need to open FBShimmering.xcworkpace rather than the .xcodeproj.) Shimmer uses the -[CALayer mask] property to enable shimmering, similar to what's described in John Harper's 2009 WWDC talk (unfortunately no longer online). Shimmer uses CoreAnimation's timing features to smoothly transition "on-beat" when starting and stopping the shimmer.
