The second version is a Linux executable that runs on its own. You can directly attach your MIDI controller to this version to review the chords you're playing (as you play them). A suitable MIDI controller would be either a MIDI keyboard, a guitar equipped with a MIDI pickup such as the Fishman triple play, or even an electric guitar pickup plugged into a computer audio interface running pitch-to-MIDI software.
