Mergo won't merge unexported (private) fields but will do recursively any exported one. It won't merge empty structs value as they are zero values too. -

Check out the showcase : http://gwt-mapfish.sourceforge.net/showcase/GwtMapFishShowcase.html I see there are still some downloads, so I feel I have to advise against using this project. It barely has any functionality, and anyway you'd be better off with home-made GWT widgets and Java logic. GWT-OpenLayers is OK, but don't go further in JS-library wrapping, or it gets messy.
