You a free to choose map provider, or to define new (local) provider or to use you own background map. It is also used to prepare a hike based on the track - calculate the length, time of passage, add comments, divide the track into stages, prepare a report on (selected) track points, etc.

It also shows how to measure distances on this map and why the hexagon way and measurement of distances is so superior. It also shows that it is possible to place this grid on a simple coordinate system - x-y- axis. It is the first step - the creation of an interface that later might be used in a strategical game or whatever.
