(See also: https://github.com/tlaukkanen/mobile-trail-explorer ) Mobile Trail Explorer is an application where user can view and record tracks using the mobile phone and GPS device. Recorded tracks can be exported in KML or GPX format. KML file can be viewed in Google Earth application. Mobile Trail Explorer is mainly targeted for recording biking, hiking etc. trails. Software runs on Java platform so it is supported by many mobile phones. It is required that mobile phone supports Bluetooth connections (JSR 82) for GPS and File connection (JSR 75) for exporting trails to kml files. Application can also render maps from Open Street Map. Maps can be downloaded over-the-air or preloaded to memory card. Other map providers can also be implemented easily in code.

    A view abstraction to provide a map user interface

    AirMapView is a view abstraction that enables interactive maps for devices with and without Google Play Services. It is built to support multiple native map providers including Google Maps V2 and soon Amazon Maps V2. If a device does not have any supported native map provider, AirMapView will fallback to a web-based map provider (currently Google Maps). Easy to integrate, it is a drop-in replacement for the Google Maps V2 package. AirMapView's original author is Nick Adams. With AirMapView, to support native Google maps using the Google Maps v2 SDK you will still need to set up the Google Maps SDK as described here. Follow all the instructions except the one about adding a map since AirMapView takes care of that for you. See the sample app for more information about how to set up the maps SDK.

    ArgooMap is an online, map-based discussion forum, which allows participants to reference their contributions to geographic locations. Different versions of ArguMap and ArgooMap/Argoomap were developed by students supervised by Dr. Claus Rinner at Ryerson University (Toronto, Canada) with partial funding from the GEOIDE Network of Centres of Excellence and DAAD, the German Academic Exchange Service.     The BioEnergy Allocation and Simulation Tool (BEAST) is a tool dedicated to assess political goals of woody bioenergy production in the context of available biomass potentials and corresponding economic and ecological criteria on a regional level. It is a useful tool in participative decision making processes by iterative simulation and visualization of complex issues. BEAST is a data- and model-driven Decision Support System (DSS) evaluating woody biomass potentials from forests, hedges and trees outside forests as well as short rotation coppice (SRC). The latter one is modelled spatially explicit. This opens the possibility to identify prefered areas for SRC production under different restrictions and goals. Forest wood and wood from outside forests are treated only aggregated.
