    segment-geospatial

    segment-geospatial

A Python package for segmenting geospatial data with the SAM

The segment-geospatial package draws its inspiration from segment-anything-eo repository authored by Aliaksandr Hancharenka. To facilitate the use of the Segment Anything Model (SAM) for geospatial data, I have developed the segment-anything-py and segment-geospatial Python packages, which are now available on PyPI and conda-forge. My primary objective is to simplify the process of leveraging SAM for geospatial data analysis by enabling users to achieve this with minimal coding effort. I have adapted the source code of segment-geospatial from the segment-anything-eo repository, and credit for its original version goes to Aliaksandr Hancharenka.

    snorkel

    snorkel

A system for quickly generating training data with weak supervision

The Snorkel team is now focusing their efforts on Snorkel Flow, an end-to-end AI application development platform based on the core ideas behind Snorkel. The Snorkel project started at Stanford in 2016 with a simple technical bet: that it would increasingly be the training data, not the models, algorithms, or infrastructure, that decided whether a machine learning project succeeded or failed. Given this premise, we set out to explore the radical idea that you could bring mathematical and systems structure to the messy and often entirely manual process of training data creation and management, starting by empowering users to programmatically label, build, and manage training data. Snorkel Flow, an end-to-end machine learning platform for developing and deploying AI applications. Snorkel Flow incorporates many of the concepts of the Snorkel project with a range of newer techniques around weak supervision modeling, data augmentation, multi-task learning, data slicing and structuring.

    thorough-pytorch

    thorough-pytorch

PyTorch Getting Started Tutorial, read online

thorough-pytorch is an educational project designed to teach deep learning using the PyTorch framework through a structured learning series. The repository provides tutorials and practical exercises that guide learners from fundamental PyTorch concepts to more advanced deep learning techniques. It emphasizes a learning approach that combines theoretical explanations with hands-on coding exercises so that students can build and experiment with neural networks directly. The project encourages collaborative learning and often organizes materials in a step-by-step progression that gradually increases in complexity. Topics include neural network fundamentals, training procedures, model evaluation, and practical deep learning workflows. By combining structured lessons with programming projects, the repository aims to help learners develop both conceptual understanding and practical implementation skills.

    MODLEM

    MODLEM

rule-based, WEKA compatible, Machine Learning algorithm

This project is a WEKA (Waikato Environment for Knowledge Analysis) compatible implementation of MODLEM - a Machine Learning algorithm which induces minimum set of rules. These rules can be adopted as a classifier (in terms of ML). It is a sequential covering algorithm, which was invented to cope with numeric data without discretization. Actually the nominal and numeric attributes are treated in the same way: attribute's space is being searched to find the best rule condition during rule induction. In result numeric attribute's conditions are more precise and closely describe the class. This algorithm contains some aspects of Rough Set Theory: the class definition can be described accordingly to its lower or upper approximation. For more information, see: Stefanowski, Jerzy. The rough set based rule induction technique for classification problems. In: Proc. 6th European Congress on Intelligent Techniques and Soft Computing, vol. 1. Aachen, 1998. s. 109-113.

Weka wrapper for the SGM toolkit for text classification and modeling.

Weka wrapper for the SGM toolkit for text classification and modeling. Provides Sparse Generative Models for scalable and accurate text classification and modeling for use in high-speed and large-scale text mining. Has lower time complexity of classification than comparable software due to inference based on sparse model representation and use of an inverted index. The provided .zip file is in the Weka package format, giving access to text classification. Other functions are usable through either Java command-line commands or class inclusion into Java projects.

    CometAnalyser

    CometAnalyser

CometAnalyser, for quantitative comet assay analysis.

Description: Comet assay provides an easy solution to estimate DNA damage in single cells through microscopy assessment. To obtain reproducible and reliable quantitative data, we developed an easy-to-use tool named CometAnalyser. CometAnalyser is an open-source deep-learning tool designed for the analysis of both fluorescent and silver-stained wide-field microscopy images. Once the comets are segmented and classified, several intensity/morphological features are automatically exported as a spreadsheet file. Video Tutorial: CometAnalyser is written in MATLAB. It works with Windows, Macintosh, and UNIX-based systems. Please, download the sample datasets and test it watching the video tutorial to understand how it works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vh2VFnMw50A Contacts: filippo.piccinini85@gmail.com beleonattila@gmail.com

    JAABA

The Janelia Automated Animal Behavior Annotator

The Janelia Automatic Animal Behavior Annotator (JAABA) is a machine learning-based system that enables researchers to automatically compute interpretable, quantitative statistics describing video of behaving animals. Through our system, users encode their intuition about the structure of behavior by labeling the behavior of the animal, e.g. walking, grooming, or following, in a small set of video frames. JAABA uses machine learning techniques to convert these manual labels into behavior detectors that can then be used to automatically classify the behaviors of animals in large data sets with high throughput. JAABA combines an intuitive graphical user interface, a fast and powerful machine learning algorithm, and visualizations of the classifier into an interactive, usable system for creating automatic behavior detectors. Documentation is available at: http://jaaba.sourceforge.net/

    Eventer

    Eventer

Rapid, unbiased, reproducible analysis of synaptic events

Eventer is a programme designed for the detection of spontaneous synaptic events measured by electrophysiology or imaging. The software combines deconvolution for detection, and variable length template matching approaches for screening out false positive events. Eventer also includes a machine learning-based approach allowing users to train a model to implement their ‘expert’ selection criteria across data sets without bias. Sharing models allows users to implement consistent analysis procedures. The software is coded in MATLAB, but has been compiled as standalone applications for Windows, Mac and Linux. nn22 Basic Neural Networks for Octave

nn22 Basic Neural Networks for Octave

Simple .m files, Basic Neural Networks study for Octave (or Matlab)

--> For a more detailed description check the README text under the 'Files' menu option :) The project consists of a few very simple .m files for a Basic Neural Networks study under Octave (or Matlab). The idea is to provide a context for beginners that will allow to develop neural networks, while at the same time get to see and feel the behavior of a basic neural networks' functioning. The code is completely open to be modified and may suit several scenarios. The code commenting is verbose, and variables and functions do respect English formatting, so that code may be self explanatory. Messages to the screen are localized, both in English and Spanish, and it is really easy to add another language to the localization. If any further explanation is needed, the forum/discussion page may be of help :) Comments and suggestions are very welcome.
