    Materials Discovery: GNoME

    Materials Discovery: GNoME

AI discovers 520000 stable inorganic crystal structures for research

Materials Discovery (GNoME) is a large-scale research initiative by Google DeepMind focused on applying graph neural networks to accelerate the discovery of stable inorganic crystal materials. The project centers on Graph Networks for Materials Exploration (GNoME), a message-passing neural network architecture trained on density functional theory (DFT) data to predict material stability and energy formation. Using GNoME, DeepMind identified 381,000 new stable materials, later expanding the dataset to include over 520,000 materials within 1 meV/atom of the convex hull as of August 2024. The repository provides datasets, model definitions, and interactive Colabs for exploring these materials, computing decomposition energies, and visualizing chemical families. Additionally, it includes JAX-based implementations of GNoME and Nequip—the latter being used to train interatomic potentials for dynamic simulations.

    Minkowski Engine

    Minkowski Engine

Auto-diff neural network library for high-dimensional sparse tensors

The Minkowski Engine is an auto-differentiation library for sparse tensors. It supports all standard neural network layers such as convolution, pooling, unspooling, and broadcasting operations for sparse tensors. The Minkowski Engine supports various functions that can be built on a sparse tensor. We list a few popular network architectures and applications here. To run the examples, please install the package and run the command in the package root directory. Compressing a neural network to speed up inference and minimize memory footprint has been studied widely. One of the popular techniques for model compression is pruning the weights in convnets, is also known as sparse convolutional networks. Such parameter-space sparsity used for model compression compresses networks that operate on dense tensors and all intermediate activations of these networks are also dense tensors.

Fast face detection, pupil/eyes localization and facial landmark points detection library in pure Go. Pigo is a pure Go face detection, pupil/eyes localization and facial landmark points detection library based on the Pixel Intensity Comparison-based Object detection paper. The reason why Pigo has been developed is because almost all of the currently existing solutions for face detection in the Go ecosystem are purely bindings to some C/C++ libraries like OpenCV or dlib, but calling a C program through cgo introduces huge latencies and implies a significant trade-off in terms of performance. Also, in many cases installing OpenCV on various platforms is cumbersome.

    PromptSource

    PromptSource

Toolkit for creating, sharing and using natural language prompts

PromptSource is a toolkit for creating, sharing and using natural language prompts. Recent work has shown that large language models exhibit the ability to perform reasonable zero-shot generalization to new tasks. For instance, GPT-3 demonstrated that large language models have strong zero- and few-shot abilities. FLAN and T0 then demonstrated that pre-trained language models fine-tuned in a massively multitask fashion yield even stronger zero-shot performance. A common denominator in these works is the use of prompts which has gained interest among NLP researchers and engineers. This emphasizes the need for new tools to create, share and use natural language prompts. Prompts are functions that map an example from a dataset to a natural language input and target output. PromptSource contains a growing collection of prompts (which we call P3: Public Pool of Prompts). As of January 20, 2022, there are ~2'000 English prompts for 170+ English datasets in P3.

    PyTorch Book

    PyTorch Book

PyTorch tutorials and fun projects including neural talk

This is the corresponding code for the book "The Deep Learning Framework PyTorch: Getting Started and Practical", but it can also be used as a standalone PyTorch Getting Started Guide and Tutorial. The current version of the code is based on pytorch 1.0.1, if you want to use an older version please git checkout v0.4or git checkout v0.3. Legacy code has better python2/python3 compatibility, CPU/GPU compatibility test. The new version of the code has not been fully tested, it has been tested under GPU and python3. But in theory there shouldn't be too many problems on python2 and CPU. The basic part (the first five chapters) explains the content of PyTorch. This part introduces the main modules in PyTorch and some tools commonly used in deep learning. For this part of the content, Jupyter Notebook is used as a teaching tool here, and readers can modify and run with notebooks and repeat experiments.

    Robyn

Experimental, AI/ML-powered and open sourced Marketing Mix Modeling

Robyn is an open-source, AI/ML-powered Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) toolkit developed by Meta Marketing Science under the “facebookexperimental” GitHub umbrella. Its goal is to democratize rigorous MMM: what traditionally required expert statisticians and expensive consulting becomes accessible to any company with data. Robyn takes in historical data (spends on different marketing channels, conversions, or revenue, and optional context or organic-media variables) and uses a combination of techniques, regularized regression (Ridge), time-series decomposition (trend, seasonality, holiday effects), and hyperparameter optimization (via evolutionary algorithms), to estimate the incremental impact of each marketing channel. It explicitly models “carry-over” (adstock) and diminishing-returns (saturation) effects per channel, enabling realistic modeling of how advertising persists over time and saturates.

    Skater

    Skater

    Python library for model interpretation/explanations

Skater is a unified framework to enable Model Interpretation for all forms of the model to help one build an Interpretable machine learning system often needed for real-world use-cases(** we are actively working towards to enabling faithful interpretability for all forms models). It is an open-source python library designed to demystify the learned structures of a black box model both globally(inference on the basis of a complete data set) and locally(inference about an individual prediction). The concept of model interpretability in the field of machine learning is still new, largely subjective, and, at times, controversial. Model interpretation is the ability to explain and validate the decisions of a predictive model to enable fairness, accountability, and transparency in algorithmic decision-making. The library has embraced object-oriented and functional programming paradigms as deemed necessary to provide scalability and concurrency while keeping code brevity in mind.

    Stable Baselines

    Stable Baselines

A fork of OpenAI Baselines, implementations of reinforcement learning

Stable Baselines is a set of improved implementations of reinforcement learning algorithms based on OpenAI Baselines. You can read a detailed presentation of Stable Baselines in the Medium article. These algorithms will make it easier for the research community and industry to replicate, refine, and identify new ideas, and will create good baselines to build projects on top of. We expect these tools will be used as a base around which new ideas can be added, and as a tool for comparing a new approach against existing ones. We also hope that the simplicity of these tools will allow beginners to experiment with a more advanced toolset, without being buried in implementation details.

    TensorFlow Model Optimization Toolkit

    TensorFlow Model Optimization Toolkit

A toolkit to optimize ML models for deployment for Keras & TensorFlow

The TensorFlow Model Optimization Toolkit is a suite of tools for optimizing ML models for deployment and execution. Among many uses, the toolkit supports techniques used to reduce latency and inference costs for cloud and edge devices (e.g. mobile, IoT). Deploy models to edge devices with restrictions on processing, memory, power consumption, network usage, and model storage space. Enable execution on and optimize for existing hardware or new special purpose accelerators. Choose the model and optimization tool depending on your task. In many cases, pre-optimized models can improve the efficiency of your application. Try the post-training tools to optimize an already-trained TensorFlow model. Use training-time optimization tools and learn about the techniques.

    TensorFlow Serving

    TensorFlow Serving

Serving system for machine learning models

TensorFlow Serving is a flexible, high-performance serving system for machine learning models, designed for production environments. It deals with the inference aspect of machine learning, taking models after training and managing their lifetimes, providing clients with versioned access via a high-performance, reference-counted lookup table. TensorFlow Serving provides out-of-the-box integration with TensorFlow models, but can be easily extended to serve other types of models and data. The easiest and most straight-forward way of using TensorFlow Serving is with Docker images. We highly recommend this route unless you have specific needs that are not addressed by running in a container. In order to serve a Tensorflow model, simply export a SavedModel from your Tensorflow program. SavedModel is a language-neutral, recoverable, hermetic serialization format that enables higher-level systems and tools to produce, consume, and transform TensorFlow models.
