    MWI spinal cord atlases

    MWI spinal cord atlases

Normative atlases for the spinal cord using myelin water imaging

Myelin water imaging was applied in 20 healthy spinal cords to create T2 metric healthy population atlases that depict the mean and variation of myelin water fraction (MWF), and intra- and extra-cellular water mobility as described by geometric mean T2 (IEGMT2). The created atlases demonstrated structural variations in the spinal cord consistent with well-known anatomical characteristics. These atlases (in PAM50 space from Spinal Cord toolbox) can be used as a reference to demonstrate areas...

    MIASCI

A minimum information project for the spinal cord injury domain

Although many millions of dollars have been spent on research related to spinal cord injury over the past 20 years there are no reliable treatments to improve regeneration. Scientists in this area have made substantial efforts to standardize experimental methodologies. For example, consortiums have developed standardized reporting systems for human SCI studies (Biering-Sorensen et al., 2011), standardized injury devices, such as the NYU impactor (Young, 2002), and standardized outcome...
