Java's standard method for loading JPEGS ( through IMageIO ) is extremely slow. As photos and images grow ever larger this becomes a problem for the developer. JLibJPEG is a significantly faster JPEG loader. This library provides a class and source files to load JPEG using the standard libjpeg library. It can be as much as ten times faster than ImageIO and returns a standard BufferedImage. It is ideal for applications which have to process large photos from digital cameras. -
