DeSmuME is the most seasoned open source Nintendo DS emulator. It sports tools designed for hackers, speedrunners, youtubers, and casual gamers. Homebrew programs are supported and can even be debugged through GDB. The Windows and OSX versions are both relatively feature rich, and there is a small universe of forks and mods that add even more features for casual gaming. DeSmuME is the origin of RetroArch and OpenEmu Nintendo DS support and is used by several mobile Nintendo DS emulators, with the notable exception of DraStic. DragonOS Resolute (26.04) is the current release — a ground-up Lubuntu-based x86_64 operating system for anyone interested in software defined radio. DragonOS Noble (24.04) and DragonOS FocalX (22.04) remain available for older hardware. All source-installed software lives in /usr/src; everything else comes from the package managers. UTM
Virtual machines for iOS and macOS
UTM is a full-featured system emulator and virtual machine host for iOS and macOS. It is based off of QEMU. In short, it allows you to run Windows, Linux, and more on your Mac, iPhone, and iPad. UTM/QEMU requires dynamic code generation (JIT) for maximum performance. JIT on iOS devices requires either a jailbroken device or one of the various workarounds found for specific versions of iOS. UTM SE ("slow edition") uses a threaded interpreter which performs better than a traditional interpreter but still slower than JIT. This technique is similar to what iSH does for dynamic execution. As a result, UTM SE does not require jailbreaking or any JIT workarounds and can be sideloaded as a regular app. -

NOOP is an offline companion app for WHOOP straps that keeps biometric data on the user’s own device. It pairs with supported straps over Bluetooth and stores readings locally in SQLite instead of using a cloud account or subscription. Source Han Sans is a set of OpenType Pan-CJK fonts. In addition to functional OpenType fonts, this open source project provides all of the source files that were used to build these OpenType fonts by using the AFDKO tools. Individual font resources or ZIP files for various deployment configurations are available for download. To help decide which fonts to download, please refer to the Configurations section of the official font readme file. Those who are unfamiliar with GitHub are encouraged to reference the official Source Han download guide, which is provided in English, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. You can also download entire releases that include all available configurations in two ZIP files. To build the binary font files from source, you need to have installed the Adobe Font Development Kit for OpenType (AFDKO). The AFDKO tools are widely used for font development today, and are part of most font editor applications. -

Aether is a censorship-circumvention client designed for networks where filtering, deep packet inspection, protocol fingerprinting, throttling, and endpoint blocking are common. It automatically searches for reachable gateways and validates that a route can actually pass data before trusting it. The client can establish encrypted connectivity through MASQUE over HTTP/3 or HTTP/2 and also supports WireGuard-based modes. Traffic obfuscation and optional TLS ClientHello fragmentation are available for environments that inspect connection patterns. Automatic reconnection can reuse the last known working gateway instead of repeating a full scan. Applications connect through a local SOCKS5 proxy exposed by Aether. Prebuilt releases target Linux, Windows, macOS, and Android through Termux, while the source is primarily built with Rust. -
