This very Beta tool processes XML files to XLIFF 2.0, and back. As today 28Oct2013, XLIFF 2.0 is not yet an OASIS Specification. It just completed its second public review. Note: This tool and the XLIFF 2.0 specification are very likely to change. There are two versions: the command line version, cl_xrt4x2V01.jar; and the Graphical User Interface version, xrt4x2V01.jar. PHPxliffreader is a PHP library for easily reading basic information from bilingual XLIFF files, such as source text, target text, match percentage, lock status, etc. It can read XLIFF files generated by several diferent CAT tools, including SDL Trados Studio, Idiom Worldserver, Geoworkz/Lionbridge's Translation Workspace/Logoport, and XTM, and it can be easily extended with plugins to support other files formats.

xliffRoundTrip automates a roundtrip between any XML file and XLIFF. It consists of 2 XSL files + Java source. The 1st transforms XML to XLIFF. The 2nd transforms that XLIFF back to the original XML, i.e., after a language translation on the XLIFF file. locale4j is a Java library for working with localization data. The library currently supports the TMX file format. Future versions will support XLIFF, po and resource bundles. Translations can also be stored in memory or in a database for use at runtime.
