    Pro Git

    Pro Git

    Pro Git 2nd Edition

Welcome to the second edition of the Pro Git book. The entire Pro Git book, written by Scott Chacon and Ben Straub and published by Apress, is available here. All content is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 3.0 license. Print versions of the book are available on Amazon.com. What is “version control”, and why should you care? Version control is a system that records changes to a file or set of files over time so that you can recall specific versions later. For the examples in this book, you will use software source code as the files being version controlled, though in reality you can do this with nearly any type of file on a computer. If you are a graphic or web designer and want to keep every version of an image or layout (which you would most certainly want to), a Version Control System (VCS) is a very wise thing to use.

    Device Activity Tracker

    Device Activity Tracker

A phone number can reveal whether a device is active

Device Activity Tracker is a platform created to monitor and log the activity of digital devices across networks, giving users visibility into usage patterns, connection events, app launches, and interaction timelines that can be applied for security monitoring, parental oversight, productivity tracking, or device lifecycle analytics. It integrates with devices via sensors or APIs, continually capturing activity metrics and reporting them to a centralized dashboard that visualizes patterns over time, highlights anomalies, and correlates events across systems or users. Because it is designed with privacy and transparency in mind, the tracker offers configurable retention policies and granular consent controls, ensuring administrators can tailor what gets logged and how long data is stored.

    AutoResearchClaw

    AutoResearchClaw

Autonomous research from idea to paper. Chat an Idea. Get a Paper 🦞

AutoResearchClaw is an open-source framework designed to automatically generate full academic research papers from a single idea or topic. Built in Python, it orchestrates a multi-stage research pipeline that gathers literature, formulates hypotheses, runs experiments, analyzes results, and writes the final paper. The system retrieves real academic references from sources such as arXiv and Semantic Scholar to ensure credible citations. It can automatically generate code for experiments, run them in a sandbox environment, and analyze the results with statistical methods. The platform also uses multi-agent debate and automated peer review processes to refine research findings and improve paper quality. By combining literature discovery, experimentation, and writing automation, AutoResearchClaw aims to turn research ideas into conference-ready papers with minimal human intervention.

    Hacker Laws

    Hacker Laws

Laws, theories, principles and patterns useful to developers

Laws, Theories, Principles and Patterns that developers will find useful. There are lots of laws which people discuss when talking about development. This repository is a reference and overview of some of the most common ones. Principles and laws to follow such as: If a program is made up of two parts, part A, which must be executed by a single processor, and part B, which can be parallelised, then we see that adding multiple processors to the system executing the program can only have a limited benefit. It can potentially greatly improve the speed of part B - but the speed of part A will remain unchanged. Also, theories like The Broken Windows Theory, which suggests that visible signs of crime (or lack of care of an environment) lead to further and more serious crimes (or further deterioration of the environment). Conway's Law suggests that the technical boundaries of a system will reflect the structure of the organisation. These among others, are featured in this project.

Ray Tracing in One Weekend Book Series

Ray Tracing in One Weekend Book Series

The Ray Tracing in One Weekend series of books

The Ray Tracing in One Weekend series of books are now available to the public for free online. They are now released under the CC0 license. This means that they are as close to public domain as we can get. (While that also frees you from the requirement of providing attribution, it would help the overall project if you could point back to this web site as a service to other users.) These books are formatted for printing directly from your browser, where you can also (on most browsers) save them as PDF. In Ray Tracing in One Weekend, you will build a simple brute-force path tracer. Continuing with Ray Tracing: The Next Week, you will add textures, volumes (like fog), rectangles, instances, lights, and support for lots of objects using a bounding volume hierarchy (BVH). Finally, with Ray Tracing: The Rest Of Your Life, we'll dive into the math of creating a very serious ray tracer.

    Epub.js

    Epub.js

    Enhanced eBooks in the browser

Epub.js is an open-source Javascript library that allows any web page to render Epub documents on any device with a modern browser. Epub.js contains a flexible rendering engine and provides a simple interface for common ebook functions such as styling, persistence and pagination. We release and maintain Epub.js on GitHub, with a growing developer community. Just include a single javascript file, and pointing it at a hosted epub. Epub.js provides an interface for common ebook functions (such as rendering, persistence and pagination) without the need to develop a dedicated application or plugin. Importantly, it has an incredibly permissive Free BSD license. The EPUB standard is a widely used and easily convertible format. Many books are currently in this format, and it is convertible to many other formats (such as PDF, Mobi and iBooks).

    Open Source Vizier

    Python-based research interface for blackbox

Open Source (OSS) Vizier is a Python-based interface for blackbox optimization and research, based on Google’s original internal Vizier, one of the first hyperparameter tuning services designed to work at scale. Allows a user to setup an OSS Vizier Server, which can host black-box optimization algorithms to serve multiple clients simultaneously in a fault-tolerant manner to tune their objective functions. Defines abstractions and utilities for implementing new optimization algorithms for research and to be hosted in the service. A wide collection of objective functions and methods to benchmark and compare algorithms. Define a problem statement and study configuration. Setup a local server, setup a client to connect to the server, perform a typical tuning loop, and use other client APIs.

    Lucid

    Lucid

A collection of infrastructure and tools for research

Lucid is a collection of infrastructure and tools for research in neural network interpretability. Lucid is research code, not production code. We provide no guarantee it will work for your use case. Lucid is maintained by volunteers who are unable to provide significant technical support. Start visualizing neural networks with no setup. The following notebooks run right from your browser, thanks to Collaboratory. It's a Jupyter notebook environment that requires no setup to use and runs entirely in the cloud. You can run the notebooks on your local machine, too. Clone the repository and find them in the notebooks subfolder. You will need to run a local instance of the Jupyter notebook environment to execute them. Feature visualization answers questions about what a network, or parts of a network, are looking for by generating examples.

    covid19model

Code for modelling estimated deaths and cases for COVID19

Code for modeling estimated deaths and infections for COVID-19 from "Estimating the effects of non-pharmaceutical interventions on COVID-19 in Europe", Flaxman, Mishra, Gandy et al, Nature, 2020, the published version of our original Report 13. This is the release related to our Tiers paper, where we use the latent factor model to estimate the effectiveness of tiers systems in England. Peer-reviewed version is to be out soon. All other code is still the same for previous releases. The code should be run in full mode to obtain credible results. Not running a full run to estimate anything is not recommended and discouraged. Only a full run should be used to get results.
