Open Source NetBSD Library Management Software

OpenAxiom is an open source Computer Algebra System. It offers an interactive environment, an expressive programming language, a compiler, a large set of mathematical libraries of interest to researchers and practitioners of computational sciences.

Before Unicode, there were several competing character encodings for the Coptic script. For instance, one group of fonts might map Coptic letters Γγ to Latin keys Gg, while another group might map them to Latin keys Jj. There are several reasons for the user to opt for legacy rather than Unicode encodings. Two deserve special mention. First, there are certain marks used in Biblical and other textual criticism that do not appear in Unicode; second, it is far easier to type in a legacy encoding and then turn it into Unicode than to type directly in Unicode. This package aims to act as a stepping stone to Unicode, by including several legacy fonts hard-coded to take advantage of the multiple encodings, as well as a UNIX shell script, in multiple shell languages, to transcode between these encodings. All twelve encodings in wide use are supported. The fonts in this package are compatible with many operating systems; the shell scripts support Mac and Linux (more soon).

The HyperJournal is a free web application which enables on-line as well as printed publishing in an innovative and significantly cost-cutting way. The HyperJournal can be easily installed and managed without any out-of-the-ordinary IT-competence.

OPACIAL is an open source Web 2.0 Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC). It is based on PHP-Mysql (requires Yaz and GD). The users can isnert their own social tags/opinions and have a faceted search/browse interface (also using social tags).

PLEIAS is an open-source Inter-library Loan System (ILL) written in PHP-Mysql. Some of its major features are: custom workflow and account types, customer and supplier financial monitoring, group accounts, customer web interface for order tracking.

The mission of libshell is to keep in place all patterns, functions and etc of shell as a library which are useful in day-to-day work activities. With libshell one can definitely obviate the task in hand.
