    Encode_LV

LabVIEW VIs for ZLib compression and Base64/binhex encoding

These VIs use C-based DLL access to ZLib (https://zlib.net/) and ASCII encode/decode. The VIs and development files are included in this package. You are most likely to be running this from a Windows machine which means that loading the LabVIEW code will generate an error. This is due to the LabVIEW code pointing to the Linux SO instead of the DLL. To fix it, double-click on the CLFN VIs and browse to DLL.

    FastPeak

    FastPeak

Fast AFM force curve peaks detector algorithm

This is showcase program, with source code and sample data included for fast peak detection algorithm. It is great tool for entry level, automated analisys, to discard empty and junk curves and save only ones matching required criteria. Assuming that only 1% of data is worth reviewing, and that manual selection takes approx. 3 seconds per curve, you can save up to 8 hours per every 10000 curves (like 2 days every week!). Force amplitude analisys for single curve takes from 1 to 4 milliseconds on low-end intel dual core. Algorithm is so simple, that you can implement it in any language in few hours, without any specialized libraries. To be implemented in our Nanopuller AFM control software as real-time module. Requires LabVIEW Runtime engine to run .exe or LabVIEW 2013 for code.

    Genome Information Entropy Spectrum

A code that computes information entropy spectrum of any genome.

We request users of this software to please kindly cite this article: Melvin M. Vopson, Samuel C. Robson, A new method to study genome mutations using the information entropy, Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, Volume 584, 126383 (2021) https://doi.org/10.1016/j.physa.2021.126383 The GENIES program is a stand alone code, with an easy to use graphical interface that performs the following tasks: a) it loads up two genome files (original and mutated); b) it computes the information entropy spectrum of each genome; c) it computes the information entropy ratio spectrum; d) it extracts the number of mutations identified, their index location and then it saves all the data including the spectra; e) in addition, the program performs a base point to base point comparison of the two genomes to detect the mutations via direct comparison. The function e) is very important to check the proposed methodology and to facilitate its calibration for predictions of fut

    Iris

    Iris

    2-photon scanning software

Iris is a LabVIEW package, developed at the Keller Lab (Basel FMI), for running 2-photon microscopes. It is supplied with auxiliary software for recording additional experimental parameters, such as behavioral states. Iris is freely available. You may modify it as you wish and use it as you wish, so long as you comply with the licence terms (see below). However, please note that we are **unable to offer any guarantee of support**. There are two exceptions to this. 1) If you find a bug (please start a ticket and report it). 2) If your support request intersects with our need to document the software. Iris is currently largely undocumented, but we will be adding documentation over time. You may file a help request in the Discussion section. If we can answer your question via expanding the documentation, then we will do so by expanding the wiki. Questions that are tangential to our development and documentation goals will likely go unanswered by the development team.

    Laser Control Utility

    Laser Control Utility

RS232 based Nd:YAG laser control and automation interface

The Laser Control Utility was developed to easily handle TTL communication between any instrumentation and the Continuum Surelight laser series. This is achieved by monitoring a TTL signal via the computer LTP1 port, whose signal is transmitted via RS232 to the laser unit, also used to control basic laser parameters, like pulse divider (laser frequency) and Q-Switch. The Shutter modulation feature allows the user to use the TTL signal to open the laser shutter on demand, controlling the length of the laser pulsed as desired. This method yields reproducible full power laser pulses. The original motivation was to interface mass spectrometer data systems to diverse laser systems. Developed by: Jair Menegon, Paulo Moreira and Thiago Correra - University of São Paulo - Brazil.

    Nanopuller

    Nanopuller

    AFM puller control software

Nanopuller by Konrad Pawlak and Janusz Strzelecki http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.ultramic.2016.01.008 http://www.biofizyka.fizyka.umk.pl/ Laboratory made AFM force spectroscopy setups were present in milestone single molecule experiments and there is a growing number of groups using such equipment even though the commercial setups are nowadays widely available. The ability to tailor the setup accordingly to particular application is an advantage that makes the effort necessary for construction a worthy investment. However, one advantage of using a commercial setup – repeatability and unification, cannot be archived, as every laboratory is developing a specific data acquisition protocol and software. Our Nanopuller software (open ISC license) presented here is intended to eliminate this obstacle. We give access to a program, which with only a minimum effort can be adjusted for vast array of typical equipment.
