Florence is an extensible scalable on-screen virtual keyboard for GNOME that stays out of your way when not needed. You need it if you can't use a real keyboard either because of a handicap, broken keyboard or tablet PC but you can use a pointing devide.

jack-keyboard is a virtual MIDI keyboard - a program that allows you to send JACK MIDI events (play ;-) using your PC keyboard. It's BSD-licensed. User interface is GTK-based.

The XkbInd program (XKB Indicator) is an indicator of keyboard layout for the X Window System; it indicates current keyboard layout in the title of top-level windows. XkbInd allows to simulate independent keyboard layout for each handled window.
