UrJTAG aims to create an enhanced, modern tool for communicating over JTAG with flash chips, CPUs, and many more. It is a descendant of the popular openwince JTAG tools with a lot of additional features and enhancements.

pyModSlave is a free, Python-based Modbus slave application for simulation purposes. It supports Modbus RTU and TCP, includes a built-in bus monitor for examining all traffic on the bus, and can be run as a Python module or as a standalone GUI (Windows only — unzip and run, no installation required). pyModSlave is based on modbus-tk, pySerial, and PyQt5. This is a fork of the jamod Modbus library, taken at version 1.2.1, released under the Apache 2 license, as contained in the SVN repository for that project. The goal of the j2mod project is to produce a more fully functioning Modbus(tm) communication library based on the Java programming language. Although written for this specific task it is easy to adopt for any experimental task which changes hardware parameters and waits for a specific condition before proceeding. The graphical interface (QT4) includes plotting (matplotlib), instrument configuration/monitoring and a program step creator. The communication with the hardware is independent of the GUI and any number of devices can be selected. To modify the code for any other task only the hardware interface needs to be redefined.
