A Library for Interactive Modelling and Visualisation
The OpenCMISS-Zinc Library (opencmiss.org/zinc), or Zinc, is a software library for building interactive graphical modelling and visualisation applications. Models are represented in Zinc as mathematical fields defined over domains, including finite elements with support for high-order basis functions, complex parameter mappings and time variation, and image-based fields. Further fields can be defined by mathematical expressions and algorithms on existing fields, including image processing filters. Zinc model data structures are dynamic, supporting interactive applications which programmatically create, destroy and modify parts of models. -

ReViSP
ReViSP, a 3D volume rendering MATLAB tool for multicellular spheroids
Reconstruction and Visualization from a Single Projection (ReViSP) tool: a 3D volume rendering method we developed to reconstruct the 3D shape of multicellular spheroids, besides estimating the volume by counting the voxels (3D pixels) fully included in the 3D surface. ReViSP is written in MATLAB (The MathWorks, Inc., Massachusetts, USA) and the source code is freely provided. The main objective of the proposed software solution is to improve the performance in dental diagnosis using infrared lock-in thermography and complex image processing algorithms for the determination of defective zones of teeth. The recorded amplitude profile of the thermal wave shows a maximum corresponding to a heat accumulation in the region where the open micro-gap is found, whereas a minimum in the phase profile is detected. These maxima/minima are convenient indicators that allow to locate surface breaking defects on teeth. For the purpose of emphasizing very small temperature variations surrounding the thin flaws, different image processing algorithms were developed and included within the DCD software solution. The RTToolbox was designed following object-oriented design principles and was implemented in the language C++. It supports the import of radiotherapy data (e.g. dose distributions and structure sets) from DICOM-RT format and other standard image processing formats by using a bridge to ITK. The RTToolbox supports the full range of radiotherapy evaluation. Tools such as DVH calculation, arithmetic operations on dose distributions and structure relationship analysis are provided as a basis for further calculations. Dose comparison indices such as Conformity Index (CI), Homogeneity Index (HI) and Conformation Number (CN), and biological models including TCP, NTCP, EUD and BED are determined from dose distributions and DVHs.
